Joy smiled fondly at her fiancé, using her other hand to run her fingers through his hair when she felt it again.
“He kicked!” She exclaimed excitedly, pushing his hand on his stomach again. This time, he kicked again. “Did you feel it? Did you, Bryce?”
"I felt it… I felt it, babe," Bryce breathed, his eyes wide as he fully woke at the feeling. "That's amazing…"
“Isn’t it?” Joy breathed out in wonder. “Soon enough, he’s going to kick a lot. Oh my God, Bryce…”
“Wow… Babe… That’s our son inside of you,” Bryce whispered, looking up at her with excited eyes. “That’s our son kicking.”
Joy met his eyes with her own, excitement dancing.
“Yes,” she breathed out. “He kicked. He’ll want to be out soon… I can’t wait…”
“Not too soon, though. We don’t want him to come out earlier than he’s supposed to,” Bryce murmured, kissing her cheek. “Is he still now? Do you think you can go to sleep?”
“Or any later,” Joy added under her breath, her smile widening when he kissed her cheek. “Well, that depends on whether I can find a comfortable position…”
Bryce hummed and rolled her onto his side as he did the same. He tugged her against himself, hands resting on her stomach as he hugged her close from behind.
“How’s this?” he asked sleepily.
“It’s good,” Joy hummed in reply, a soft smile on her face. “Goodnight, Bryce…”
“Goodnight, my Joy,” Bryce yawned, closing his eyes before quickly falling back asleep.
(Skip?
Not it!)
(I hate you~)
Joy shut the lid to the box, smiling as she put it in a small bag.
“Bryce, are you ready?” She called out softly. “I’ve prepared your lunch. And hurry up, please. Your breakfast is going to go cold.”
(❤️)
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Bryce called from the bathroom. He finished drying his hands and stepped out to see Joy in the kitchen with his food all prepared. He grinned and made his way over to her, kissing her cheek when he reached her. “Thanks, beautiful. You’re the best.”
Joy wrapped her arms around him, pressing a kiss on his neck.
"Anything for you, my Wolf," she murmured. "Come back soon, okay? Ambrose and I'll get lonely."
Bryce hummed and cupped her cheek in his hand, using it to lift her face and press a longer kiss to her lips. “Of course. I’ll be home as soon as I can. There’s a meeting today, so I shouldn’t be too long. You could do some planning for the wedding while I’m gone if you’re bored.”
Joy's eyes fluttered closed and remained closed even when Bryce pulled away.
"I will," she whispered. "We'll miss you."
“I’ll miss you, too, love,” Bryce murmured before bending down to kiss her belly. “And you as well, little boy. Keep growing, and don’t give your mom too much pain.”
Joy laughed, running her fingers through his hair.
"He's going to be wonderful," she cooed. "Ah, it's just been four months, huh…? Move along now. I don't want you to be late!"
(Hasn’t it been five months? Lol.)
Bryce chuckled and straightened up, quickly kissing her cheek again asbhe brabbed the bag of his lunch. “All right, all right. I’m going. I’ll see you in a few hours, love.”
Joy wished him goodbye, waving as he left. Once she was alone, she sighed and patted her belly.
"Well, love, it looks like it's just you and me…" Ambrose replied with a kick.
(Lol. Ambrose just wants to chill in her belly. Talking isn’t allowed. ;P)
Around four that evening, Bryce walked back into the apartment, running a hand through his hair as he closed the door behind himself with a sigh. The meeting had been long and boring. All he wanted now was to relax a little, or maybe just chill with his fiancée.
“Joy? I’m home,” he called, taking his shoes off.
(Ambrose is like, please mom.)
Joy stirred in her position on the couch, having fallen asleep as she waited for Bryce to get home. When she heard his voice, her eyes opened slowly, watering due to sleepiness.
"Bryce…" she murmured, sitting up. "Welcome home…"
“Oh, did I wake you? I’m sorry, babe. You can go back to sleep,” Bryce said softly as he made his way into the living room, his gaze flicking over her softly. “I can go do some work in our bedroom if you don’t want to move. Or I could carry you there so you’re more comfortable?”
Joy let out a sleepy smile, rubbing her eyes slowly.
"I'm okay," she mumbled, standing up to walk towards him. "I was just waiting for you. Freshen yourself up while I set the table?"
Bryce smiled at her softly, kissing her forehead when she’d reached him. “Sure thing, babe. I’m going to go take a quick shower, and then I’ll come back out so we can eat. Sound good?”
