Arien settled down as the movie played, his eyes half closing after a while. It was as close to sleep as he could get- he wasn't thinking about anything, wasn't moving. He let the movie be his dream. He slumped back into the couch, completely and totally relaxed.
After awhile, Rafael felt his eyes drifting over to where Arien was. He looked as though he was asleep, even though Rafael knew he wasn’t. Dressed like how he was now, Arien looked almost human. Rafael eventually realized that he was staring and quickly looked away, trying to focus on the movie.
Arien slowly slid down in his seat, soon laying next to Rafael. He himself glanced at Rafael, the trance of the movie-dream broken. He smiled softly, his eyes half closing again. He shifted slightly, his own head right next to Rafael's.
He smiled again, gently wrapping an arm around Arien so neither of them would fall off the couch or anything. That was most definitely, 100%, the only reason.
Arien smiled softly when Rafael's arm went around him, leaning into the other man just slightly. He closed his eyes completely now, enjoying the feeling. A soft breath escaped his lips. This was nice… much better than being alone.
Rafael let his eyes slide shut as well, letting out a soft sigh as he relaxed. He was also normally used to being alone, and this was a very nice change for him.
Arien continued to smile, going back to his sleep like meditative state. He kept his eyes closed, the warmth from the other more than enough to help him relax and let his thoughts slip away.
(Timeskip?)
(Sounds good. I don’t really have any ideas for it so can you start?)
(Sure thing!)
Arien slowly opened his eyes, a content smile still on his face. He savored the feeling of Rafael's warmth around him, turning his head to look at the other. He laid there a moment, then slowly pulled away. It was evening now, the movie long over. Arien stretched, letting out a soft hum as he sat up. He smiled again, looking at Rafael.
Rafael had fallen asleep a handful of hours ago, and was now snoring softly, his expression peaceful. Considering it was almost nighttime now, he should probably wake up.
Arien smiled again at the peacful look on Rafael's face. He lightly placed his hand on Rafael's head a moment, then moved it to his shoulder.
"Rafael," Arien said softly, shaking the human lightly. "It's almost night, you should wake up."
It took a second but he woke up, his brow furrowed. “Mmn..what’s up?” He asked, yawning widely. He ran a hand through his hair which was pretty much completely flattened on one side.
"It's almost seven thirty," Arien said. He chuckled softly when he saw Rafael's hair.
"I figured it would be a good time to make some dinner."
“Yeah you’re probably right.” He sat up, stretching a bit. “Were you able to…not really sleep I guess, but could you get pretty close to that?” He asked.
Arien nodded.
"Yes, I did. Ah…" Arien blushed just faintly. "It was a lot easier to laying by someone else then just using the television."
A smile appeared on Rafael’s face. “I’m glad that I could help you then.” It made him feel happy, knowing that Arien was well rested.
Arien hummed, smiling a bit. He liked seeing Rafael smile.
"Here, is there anything you want in particular for dinner?" He moved around the couch, still with that smile as he headed to the kitchen area.
“Umm…not really. I’ll eat whatever you want to make for me.” He got up, following Arien into the kitchen.
"Okay! Anything you can't have? Allergies, things like that?" Arien smiled softly, going about gathering various ingredients.
“I don’t think so. But thank you for asking.” He sat down at the kitchen counter, humming softly under his breath.
Arien turned to give Rafael a smile.
"You're welcome," he said, humming. He started cooking, a simple meat dish.
He watched Arien cook, a smile on his face. It was such a mundane thing but it made him happy. Just being here with Arien did that for him. He had this fluttering feeling in his chest, he couldn’t really put a name to it, but he liked it.
Arien hummed softly as he cooked, focusing on it. He finally pulled the meat off the pan, plating it, one for each of them. It was a simple meal, but it was a good thing for dinner. He smiled as he set Rafael's plate down for him.
“Thanks.” Rafael said, starting to eat. “It’s really good!” He exclaimed, his smile widening as he kept eating.
Arien grinned, taking a bite himself.
"Thank you! I'm glad you like it!" Arien enjoyed cooking, even though he couldn't sustain himself with the food he made.
Rafael kept eating, staying silent for the rest of the meal except for occasionally humming quietly under his breath.
Arien finished first, standing with his plate to put it away. He was still smiling, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"How long do you think you'll stay up tonight?" He asked.
“I don’t know. At least two or three hours later than usual since I slept a lot of the day.” He finished up his food, walking over to the sink to clean his plate.
"Oh, I see! Perhaps we could go do something..?" Arien looked at Rafael, a bit hopeful he would accept. He dried the dishes, same as always.
“Yeah…I’d like that.” He smiled over at the other, looking at him for maybe a second too long before pulling his eyes away.
