Gabe made such to stay close to Alex, people continuing to file into the ferry. It seemed it would be over crowded, people pushing against them.
Gabe made such to stay close to Alex, people continuing to file into the ferry. It seemed it would be over crowded, people pushing against them.
Alex flinched a little when people bumped into him, curling his arms around himself and taking deep breaths to try and calm himself down.
Gabe noticed, and tried his best to put himself between Alex and the rest of the crowd.
"Do you think you can still do this?" He asked gently.
Alex hesitated a little, and nodded. He wasn't very tall, and in this crowd of people looked even smaller than usual. "Yeah…" He said softly, swallowing.
"Just stick close, okay?" Gabe flashed one more smile.
Alex nodded a little, swallowing. His eyes flicked away at that smile, knowing he would blush or worse if he paid attention. It had been so long since someone smiled at him…no, no he couldn't continue down that path of thinking.
Gabe looked it as the ferry started it off the docks, getting pushed into Alex by a particularly rowdy passenger.
"I'm sorry, are you okay?" He asked quickly, looking at Alex with visible concern. Perhaps this hasn't been the best idea.
Alex flinched again when Gabe got pushed into him, taking a deep breath. He shook a little bit, wrapping his arms tightly around his body. "I-I'm fine…" He whispered, voice shaky.
Gabe glared at some of the passengers around them, managing to get people to shuffle away to give them a little bit of breathing room.
"You're gonna be okay," Gabe said gently. "No one's gonna hurt you."
Alex's breathing was shaky. He looked up at Gabe, quivering a little and his breathing catching in his chest.
Gabe wanted to reach out and put this hand on Alex's shoulder, but he figured that would only make it worse.
"We gotta stay came, okay?"
Alex forced his head to dip in a little nod, though he was still quivering and shaking and tryinot to collapse again.
"We're nearly there," Gabe promised, "and then we'll stay far, far away from any more crowds."
Alex took a deep breath, and nodded again. "O-okay." he whispered.
"We'll get through this, right?" Gabe shifted slightly as once again one of the other passengers got a bit rowdy. This time, have stood his ground, making sure no one else, touched Alex.
Alex nodded a little bit again, curling tighter into himself and trying to take up as little room as possible on the deck. He took a deep, slightly shaky breath.
Finally, the ferry pulled up to the other docks. Other passengers were able to get off, but have and Alex had to wait a bit.
Alex was trembling a little, though it got better as more passengers got off of the boat. He swallowed.
Finally, Gabe and Alex were able to leave the boat. Gabe stuck close to Alex, to make sure no one else would.
Alex stayed near Gabe, his shoulders still hunched tightly.
Finally, they were away from the crowds, back to walking through alleyways. Gabe paused and turned to look Alex in the face.
"Better?" He asked gently.
Alex took a deep breath, and nodded a little. "Yeah…" he said softly, looking up at Gabe.
"That's good." He smiled, finally putting his have in his pockets and they began walking again.
"We've got quite the walk ahead of us, but there won't be any more crowds."
Alex was shaking slightly as he followed Gabe. He hadn't done well in that crowd on the ferry.
Gabe would occasionally glance back at Alex. Gabe was best at giving physical comfort, so Alex was going to be a challenge for him.
