"…Perhaps??? I'm not too sure yet." Miles' tail wagged. "I am pretty hungry…." He licked his chops seductively.
"…Perhaps??? I'm not too sure yet." Miles' tail wagged. "I am pretty hungry…." He licked his chops seductively.
Emmeline pointed to the food, "That's why I bought this," She finished eating what she had taken and she laid her legs out straight, stretching, "I have a feeling I'm going to be quite exhausted and sore when we reach wherever we're going."
"Well, wait…. What kind of food did you get?" He slid over to her, putting his nose to work. "Apples?…. Carrots…? Edible mushrooms?…. Cabbage?" It all seemed a bit ironic since he was craving more meat than usual, but he didn't let it bother him.
"Yes, yes, yes and yes, they had some pieces of meat so I bought a small piece as well, we'll have to make a fire if you want it cooked though," She said, looking over at him and nodding.
Miles snickered. "Bold of you to think I have to have meat cooked to eat it while I'm like this…" He curled up next to her. "If you want you can practically treat me like a dog for almost everything… Except my intelligence…."
Emmeline smiled, "Alright then," She grabbed a small bundle that was wrapped in white paper. She tore the paper open and showed him the meat, "Is that good?"
"Yeeeeeeees," He said happily, carefully taking the paper. "This is perfect…." He pulled the paper apart to reveal the meat. He took it in his hands and gnawed on it greedily, not caring. He was hungry with his stomach wavering. His tail wagged happily as he ate, slapping the ground and having it wave all over the place.
"You are just a giant dog," She said with a smile, shifting so that she was laying against his back, "A giant, soft, warm dog."
He swallowed his meat and was chewing on the bone when he got the compliment. "Aww, thanks…." His tail wagged harder. "It isn't every day that werewolves get appreciated. In fact, they're never really appreciated…. Or even seen as relatively good…." He clamped his jaws on the bone and kept it there.
Emmeline smiled, "As long as you aren't going to kill me, it's nice having a friend who's a werewolf." She ran her hands through his fur and looked over at him, "I'm liking it so far."
Miles grinned when she began petting him. It was the very first time anyone has really…. Touched him like that while he was that way, let alone touched at all. "Well, I'm liking it too," He purred seductively. "And as long as you don't anger me I won't have thoughts about killing you."
"Then I'll try not to anger you." She smiled and continued petting him, humming softly, "I vote we take a break before we keep going." She said, looking over at him, "What do you say?"
He picked the last small shreads of meat off the bone with his tongue. "I could go for that. I think my injured leg has done enough walking for now anyways…." Miles turned and glanced at her. "But do we want to reach the larger town today or maybe tomorrow midday?"
"Tomorrow sounds good, I just can't forget to get the ointment for your leg." She closed her eyes and just leaned against him, happy for the break.
Miles set the clean bone aside and curled up around her, taking in a deep breath. "I promise I won't forget…." He said softly.
She smiled and nodded, opening one eye to make sure the pack of supplies was safe before closing it again. She curled into a slightly smaller ball and put one arm behind her head, humming softly.
He glanced back at her. “What are you always humming, anyways?” Miles asked out of the blue. “I find you humming almost all the time, and….” It is really nice… but I don’t know what she’s humming…
"it calms me down," She said, "Plus it gives me something to do when I'm bored." She slowly stopped humming and looked over at him, "I can stop if it's annoying."
“No….” He said quietly, resting his chin on his hands. “It’s fine…. keep going…..” Miles didn’t like the idea that he was getting so tired even if it wasn’t even past lunch time yet. I’ll do what I need… to keep myself awake when I need to be….
Emmeline nodded, closing her eyes again, "A quick break, then we have to keep going." She said, mostly to herself. She started humming quietly again, making sure it wasn't annoying.
Miles let himself go into a light sleep, hearing the chirping of the birds, the gentle swishing of the leaves in the trees, the humming of Emmiline…. He fell asleep, the rhythmic breathing helping lulling himself to rest.
She stayed awake for a few minutes when she realised he had fallen asleep, opening her eyes again and looking up at the sky. "It's so pretty," She murmured, looking at the trees and how their branches interlaced but still showed the sun through them.
Soon Miles was in a deep sleep for a nap.
His ears and tail twitched as he began to dream about something, whining every so often. I can't let them catch me…. He thought subsequently, his legs twinging.
His injured foot sparked in pain, and he let out a long whine.
Emmeline glanced at Miles when she heard him whine, hesitantly putting a hand on him and starting to pet him again. "Shhh..It's ok.."
(Nyooooooo! :3)
Miles felt a soothing hand touch him, and he slowed down a bit. He quit moving his legs, which ultimately made the pain die down. Yet his tail wagged slowly. Maybe things will be better….
