Miles heard Emmiline, but he said nothing more. There was no need, and besides, he was growing tired just by keeping himself alive to endure the pain. …Why did I have to be so stupid…? Why was I tricked into thinking I wasn't risking anything…?
"Oh gosh…where'd he go?" She mumbled, spinning around and looking behind herself. She heard the sound of running water and she ran her hand through her hair, jogging to the creek. She let out a small breath and saw a something laying in the creek a little ways away "Miles?" She said, slowly walking closer to it.
Miles' tail thrashed a little when he heard she was close. Emmiline…. He was unsure what to think now that she was a little ways away. "I'm……h-here…." He croaked, choking up.
A look of relief crossed over her face and she ran to him, kneeling down next to him once she got here. "You're alive," She did her best to give him a hug, her pants legs already soaked from being in the water, "Are you ok? What happened?" She asked him, looking him over, "Oh," She said softly when she saw the trap.
"D-Does it lo-o-ok like….." He coughed. "I'm okay t-to you!?…" Miles growled, his tail lashing rather angrily. Get me out of this creek…. He shuttered, getting colder and colder. It didn't help that it was in the middle of the night.
"I should've brought that stupid blanket," She mumbled, not listening to him as she tried to figure out how she was going to get him out of the water and how to get the trap off of his foot, "Alright, this might seem stupid, but I can't think, do you want me to try to get you out of the water first? Or do you want the trap off first?"
"Get me out of either," Miles growled, shivering. "I-I'm fre-e-zing my ass-s off!!!" He barked. I can't help but snap, He thought. I can't sound urgent without yelling….
She nodded and stood up, "This might hurt your ankle, but you need to be out of the water before you get hypothermia." She said, getting ready to try to pull him out of the water. "Can you use your other leg to help push?" She did her best to find a way to hold onto both of his front legs and start to pull him out of the water.
(Wait – front legs as in arms or…. Legs?)
(As in arms..he's a in the wolf form right now, right?)
(Yeah but that doesn't mean he is a legitimate wolf that walks on four legs idek)
As he was dragged, he bit his lip as in to try to hold in the scream, but he roared and howled nonetheless. It was just oh so painful for him. Make it stop!!!
(I know, I didn't know what to call them..my brain is kinda fried at the moment..sry)
She pressed her eyes shut as she tugged, trying to shut his howls of pain out. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," She said, wincing slightly, "I just need you out of the water beside your leg with the trap on it, the water will help that leg." She rambled on, trying to draw her attention away from the whole situation.
(Lol my brain is a fried chicken)
Miles snapped his teeth and snarled. Bullshit!!!! He roared again. "And how the hell is water supposed to help!!!?" Miles' ears and tail flicked fast and irritably.
(XD)
"When I take the trap off, there is obviously going to be blood, it'll help it wash the blood away so I can fix it." She said, already quite tired from looking for him and not getting any sleep, along with having to try to pull him out of the river. She continued to pull and tug and try to get him out of the creek.
"It ain't gonna be e-easy…. Th-thinking you can just fix it," Miles held in another bark, but teetered. It's gonna take weeks and weeks for this to recover!!! And as long ad I still have a damaged wound, I have to stay like this!!!
Emmeline nodded, "I know, I'm trying to stay positive," She said, taking a break before continuing to try to get him out of the creek, "The thing I'm worried about is if I go get stuff to wrap the wound, I don't want to leave you, the hunters could find you."
Miles let out a growling sigh. "I d-don't know if they'll e-ever find me…" He let his leg go limp, but it didn't help the pain any as she continued to drag him out.
Eventually she got him out of the water, leaving the leg with the trap on it laying in the water. "Ok…first step done.." She said between breaths, "I'm going to need to get stuff to clean the wound from the house..it means I'd have to leave you here…do you promise that if you hear me calling to you, you'll answer?"
Miles let out a sigh of restlessness. "I c-can try…." He mumbled lowly. Why would you need to? I'm…. Not going anywhere anytime soon…. Not on my watch at least… His ears bent back in sadness and whined. "Just be quick."
"I will," She said softly, nodding to him one last time before starting to run back to the house. "A towel..a bandage of sorts for his leg..I'll figure it out," She said to herself, absolutely exhausted but knowing that she had to get back to him quickly. She arrived back at the house and slipped inside, breathing heavily as she grabbed a towel and a bandage for his leg. She shook her head and grabbed a light blanket along with an apple for him before starting to jog back to him.
Miles began to weep. Why do I have to be such a dumbass???…. He flattened his ears, most certainly disappointed in himself. I never really wanted anyone to have to come and save my hind…. He put his hands over his snout in shame. For Pete's sake I don't even have the strength to move myself!!!!
"Miles?" She called when she got a little ways into the woods, "Where are you?" She tightened her grip slightly on the supplies and continued to jog.
"I–" He choked all the sudden, and he coughed. "I'm over here," he grumbled, still a bit teared up. I seriously don't know what I was thinking….
Emmeline nodded and headed towards his voice, quickly finding him. She kneeled down next to him again and held the supplies in her arms, "I got a towel, soome bandages, a blanket for you and an apple." She took the towel and laid it over his back while she moved to start on his leg. She set the other supplies down carefully and kneeled in the river so she could get closer to his leg, trying to figure out the best way to get it off.
"Th-thanks," He said a bit forcefully. He already felt like he was heating up since she draped the blanket over him, but his ankle and part of his calf were still greatly suffering. It's so bad…. He whined.
