"This might hurt," She said, looking over at him, "Please don't murder me…" She grabbed each jaw of the trap carefully, making sure she wouldn't get her hands caught by it before starting to pry the two sides apart.
"This might hurt," She said, looking over at him, "Please don't murder me…" She grabbed each jaw of the trap carefully, making sure she wouldn't get her hands caught by it before starting to pry the two sides apart.
Miles dug his fingers into the ground and roared, lashing and thwaping his tail at her. "Stop!!!" He barked, voice booming, "It hurts!!!!"
She winced at his voice, "I can't, it needs to come off." She narrowly missed getting hit in the face with his tail and she opened the trap more, her arms shaking from the effort, "Try to get your foot out, before my arms fail and it snaps back on your leg."
Miles snapped, "I can't!!! It hurts too much!!!!" Yet, nonetheless, he inched forward with his dead leg behind him, scraping it over the bottom teeth of the trap until it was out.
He flopped back down, panting. I never thought that'd be a real effort…. But it just hurts…
As soon as his foot was out she let go of the trap, letting it snap back shut and drop into the creek. She picked it up and set it off to the side, motioning for Miles to give her his leg, "I need to wash the wound and wrap it, please don't hit me with your tail again." She said.
"Sorry…." He muttered embarrassingly. The worst is over…. You can relax now…. He folded his arms and rested his chin on it. He let her hold his leg, and he tried his best to keep his tail still. "I really need to quit being a jerk," Miles said, mostly to himself.
Emmeline glanced at him as she carefully washed his leg, full on sitting in the creek. "Can you hand me the bandage?" She asked him, holding his leg gently as she pointed to the bandages, "After that, I'll be done with your leg, though we might need to get some ointment to stop any infections from spreading."
He was in the middle of shaming himself when he heard her. "Oh– yeah, sure," He said solemnly, taking a hand and tossing her the coil of bandages. I'm not sure where she got those… I don't think I had any… But oh well… At least she managed to find them.
She caught the roll and started wrapping the wound, "Do you think you'll be able to make it back to the house?" She continued wrapping, finishing quickly and fastening the edges so it wouldn't fall off, "Because I'm officially done taking care of your leg." She made sure his leg wasn't in the water before standing up, almost completely soaked and trying to not shiver from the freezing cold water or pass out from exhaustion.
"First of all…." Miles said slowly. "It's still too painful to move it…. And second…." He swallowed a lump in his throat. "I don't even know if I could ever live at that house again…." His voice began to get watery. "With the hunters over there… I'm sure to die, and you are too, possibly…."
"You won't die," Emmeline said, almost collapsing down next to him as she tried to sit down, "I'll protect you, and save you if you need me too," She laid down next to him, her eyes already half shut as she tried to talk, "If you want we could move somewhere else, I'm fine wherever." Her last few words were quiet and she shivered from sitting in the water, making sure he had both the towel and blanket over himself as she drifted off to sleep.
Miles watched her drift off, shivering. Maybe tomorrow I'll have to grab all my essentials…. He curled his body around her and draped part of his towel and blanket over her before giving her a cute nuzzle to her temple. Sleep tight and stay warm… He thought, falling alseep.
(Awwww….)
(Time skip?)
(Dats cute :3 also ya)
Emmeline woke up the next morning to find Miles curled around herself, she opened one eye and stayed silent, closing it again. She only thought about it momentarily, just happy for the warmth from the blanket and from him. Her only other thought was to stay quiet so she didn't wake him up if he was asleep.
Miles heard the birds chirping, and he shifted a little. He was surprised to feel that Emmiline was still where he had her when he fell asleep. He turned his ears around and let his tail brush her feet. "G' morning, sleepy," He said to her softly.
She pulled her feet up when his tail brushed against them, "Mhm," She mumbled, still half asleep. She shifted around and pressed herself against him, opening one eye slightly to look around.
"…You ready to get up?" He asked quietly, nuzzling her lightly. Because as much as I want to stay and sleep, we can't stay forever…
"I suppose," She mumbled, opening both of her eyes and yawning. She propped herself up on her elbows and looked over at him, "Did you decide if we're staying at the house or if we're moving?" She asked.
"It would be best if we grabbed the money and valuables and moved…" He said, a bit down. "Maybe there might be an area where they don't hunt…. You know…." Miles got quiet. But with my foot, it'll take weeks to go just a couple miles at a time….
Emmeline thought for a minute, "I'm just wondering how we're going to move, you can't really walk.." She yawned again and shivered, "Do you have a cart or a wagon or some kind?" She asked, "Because we could get out of this area quite a lot faster if we had either of those and an animal to pull it along."
"I think other animals would be a bad idea…" He chuckled. "A cart sounds great, but I don't want to put any more labor on my lil' miracle worker…" He smiled at her.
"Oh..be quiet," She mumbled, already feeling her face heat up, "You can't get me flustered this early in the morning,"
She looked at the ground and smiled lightly, "Remind me to get the ointment and more bandages for your ankle before we leave for good."
"If you insist," He booped her on the nose with his furry finger before rolling away and sitting up. Miles glanced down at his foot, now that the pain had died down a lot since she got the trap off.
(Wait bruh what happened to the apple?)
(It's still there…somewhere..idk)
Emmeline sighed and looked at the creek, humming softly to herself, "Is there any place you have in mind to go when we're going?"
Miles shrugged, rolling his broad shoulders. "Maybe somewhere east. I heard werewolves are much rarer over in that area." He glanced down at the apple sitting there, and he picked it up. "But before we leave, I want to take several things from the house."
"What do you want to take?" She asked, looking over at him and silently studying him. She realized she was probably staring and she looked away, "All I have to take is my other set of clothes."
