She nodded, "Ok..just tell me if it gets too bad." She focused on the path, taking her job of making sure he didn't trip quite seriously.

Miles nodded. "Don't worry, I'll tell you…." But meanwhile, I need to start thinking about where we should take root once we're done in that region…. He limped along somewhat nicely. Maybe in a cave or something? I don't want to be in a place like a house and then have to move again or something….
She hummed softly as they walked. The pack of stuff she was carrying was an odd shape against her back and she shifted it to the other shoulder.
He glanced down at her. "It even looks like you're having trouble with that yourself….." I could easily carry that…. Miles kept walking along, wincing every once in a while.
"I'm fine," She said, "I'm more worried about your leg, I need to get supplies for it so that you don't get an infection, you never know what that trap had on it."
"True," Miles frowned. "And speaking of which, you have the ointment, right?" I think she asked about it a while ago, but I'm not sure if she actually got it.
She shook her head, "No, I planned on getting it when we were closer to town." She looked up at him, a slightly concerned look on her face, "When do we reach the next town?"
"W– I mean, there's a small village not too far from here, but the next larger town is still a ways away…" Miles winced, whining a bit. "I think we'll make it to the village, though," He added quickly.
"Ok, let's hope that the village has a general shop.." Emmeline focused back on the ground, still taking her job quite seriously.
We can only hope…. Miles thought, letting out a low, heavy sigh. "But if they're scared of me, it's all up to you to get what the both of us want…." He hobbled along, still whining and wincing.
Emmeline looked up at him and nodded, "If you need anything when we get close to town I can get it." She gave him a slight smile, "Are you sure you don't need help? Don't wait until you collapse to tell me, you'll just hurt yourself more then."
"I'm fine…. It's… Just annoying pain…." Miles grunted, his tail lashing. I hope the village has a hotel or something of the sort….
"Miles, you just got your leg caught in a bear trap, it's not going to just be an annoying pain." She looked up at him with a concerned look on her face, "Don't hurt yourself just because of your pride."
His ears snapped back. "I'm not doing it because of my pride!" He snarled. "I want to get as far as I can before those hunters come along and kill me!" Who are you kidding… Why are you still walking??? Even if it does hurt a little? A lot? Too much? Miles growled and shook his head. "The hell…"
She flinched slightly, "I didn't say we had to stop," She said, focusing back on the ground, "I don't want the hunters to come back either..don't mind what I said, let's just keep going."
He grumbled a little, pushing himself to keep moving. "Alright then…." But how am I gonna get a place to sleep without turning back into a human…?
A while later, Miles and Emmiline came up on a hill in the road, and he pointed down to a small handful of houses and buildings down below under the shade of large oak trees. "Down there – there's the village I was talking about." He stopped to take a breath.
Emmeline smiled softly, "I'll go down and check if they have a store, do you need me to get anything?" She walked to the side of the path and set the pack down, glancing back at him and silently asking for some money.
"Food and water," He said nicely, handing her his coin sack. "That sounds good." Miles hopped over and carefully set himself down on the ground to rest himself. I'll just chill here while she goes into town.
"Alright," She said, nodding and taking the coin sack. She smiled at him before heading down to the village, humming softly as she did. She arrived and smiled when she saw a building that looked like a store, heading over to it and walking inside.
Miles tried wrapping himself in his cloak, which actually covered him as it was if he were humanly. Hopefully she doesn't take long…. He tucked the bag under his bent legs to protect it. I don't know how long I can stay out here…
She entered the shop and smiled happily when she saw that they sold food as well as supplies. She bought food immediately and then started looking for things for Miles' leg. She found another roll of bandages and bought that as well, though there was no ointment for the wound and she got slightly nervous.
After she had bought everything she started back to him, humming lightly as she came up to him.
Miles heard footsteps and he flinched, turning around. "Oh. That was awfully quick," He said quietly. "Did they have what you were looking for?"
"Most of it, they didn't have any ointment for your wound though," She set the food down and the roll of bandages, sitting down next to him, "Do you know when we'll reach the larger town?"
"If you insist on keeping me immobilized…. Then maybe later in the afternoon…." Miles set the supplies aside from between his legs and lied down, curled up. "Or maybe sooner in the afternoon. It's up to you."
Emmeline nodded, "Are you taking a nap?" She grabbed a bit of the food and glanced down at him, starting to hum again.
