Astral was worried, some, when he noticed how Simon was feeling. He was worried it would be negative for the child. He moved to hold Simon close, resting his head on the mortal's.
Astral was worried, some, when he noticed how Simon was feeling. He was worried it would be negative for the child. He moved to hold Simon close, resting his head on the mortal's.
Simon was already so tired, just from spending one day of practically uninterrupted time with Astral. He wouldn’t be able to do this.
"Would you like to go back to your room?" Astral eventually offered. Even he understood it would be better to ease Simon into spending all of his time with the god.
Simon nodded quickly, grateful to be given the option. He knew that at some point he’d just have to suck it up and deal with this all the time. But at the moment, it was too hard for him. He was too tired and felt like he was under too much stress.
Astral moved his hand to Simon's chin, and in a moment he was lifting the small man up and back into the room on the table. Mia was waiting anxiously, Leo asleep in her lap.
“Thank you.” Simon said once he was set back down in his own room. He knew Astral was under no obligation to do this for him and accommodate him, even slightly.
"You're welcome…" Astral didn't want Simon under too much stress, after all. Mia reached over to offer her hands to Simon, keeping her sight down so she wouldn't glare at Astral. There were only so many times Simon could save her, after all.
Simon took Mia’s hands carefully, glad that she was still doing alright. He’d missed his friend in even the short amount of time he was away.
Mia gave Simon's hands a squeeze as Astral moved away, leaning over to hug Simon once.
"Are you hurt?" She asked, not even bothering to pretend he was okay. None of this was.
Simon shook his head. “I’m not hurt, promise.” He said softly. He let out a soft sigh of relief, careful not to be too loud.
"Okay…" Mia trailed off, keeping quiet. She held Simon a moment more before looking down at Leo.
"He passed out while trying to wait for you…"
“Aww poor thing.” He couldn’t help but smile softly at the sleeping man. “And you guys got along just fine while I was gone?” He asked.
"We have been," Mia assured. She looked down at Leo, gently running a hand over his head.
"We were both so worried for you…"
“Well I’m all okay, promise. Nothing to worry about right now.” He reassured, still being careful to keep his voice soft.
"Okay… I'm glad." Mia tucked her head against Simon's shoulder, gently running her fingers through Leo's hair still. She hummed softly, relaxing so slightly.
Simon hugged her gently, being able to relax for the moment. Hopefully they’d be able to get a bit of peace for maybe an hour or so.
Perhaps. Astral wasn't directly watching them, which could be both a good or bad thing. Mia ran her fingers through Simon's hair, letting out a small breath. Things had been… tense, waiting to see if Simon would even get to come back at all.
Simon leaned into Mia’s touches, smiling for a moment. He was so thankful he was able to come back, he’d been gone from his friend’s side for longer than he was used to.
Mia paused when she saw Simon's smile, but nothing happened. Astral didn't even say anything to either of them. Perhaps he was asleep again..? Or he was being more lenient, letting Simon just be happy instead of making him happy with the god only.
Simon stopped smiling as soon as he noticed that that’s what he was doing. He didn’t want to risk getting on Astral’s bad side again so soon. He yawned softly, all the tiredness suddenly hitting him again.
Mia looked to Simon as he yawned, moving to lay them down. Leo shifted some in his own sleep as the two moved, ears flicking as he moved to snuggle closer to them.
Simon rested his head against her chest, sighing softly and letting his eyes close. It seemed like all he did these days was sleep. But then again, who could blame him for wanting to.
No one could, even Astral understood. Leo moved a bit more in his sleep, pushing up in between the two, resting his head below Simon's. Mia let out a soft breath, fingers gently running through Simon's hair.
Simon mumbled a soft thank you, before very quickly beginning to fall asleep in Mia’s arms, feeling safer about going to sleep.
Mia kept watch over the two men as they slept, her lips pursed slightly. She wasn't sure just how safe she could keep them in this place, but she would try. She would do everything she could for them.
