Feeling Astral’s eyes on him, he doubled his efforts. ‘Just finish what’s on the plate Simon…’ he told himself.
Feeling Astral’s eyes on him, he doubled his efforts. ‘Just finish what’s on the plate Simon…’ he told himself.
Astral was glad Simon was trying, at least. Still, had he done this the entire time Astral had left them alone? It was still concerning…
Simon was hoping this would be enough to appease Astral. The last thing he needed was the god monitoring his meals more.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be exactly what Astral was going to do. He had made the ceiling reappear after he lowered the food in, but he was still watching Simon closely. He'd make sure he hate enough from now on.
After a few more minutes, Simon had finished what was left on his plate, setting the plate down in his lap quietly.
((Also I might throw in another paragraph with Emile tonight I just didn’t have the time while I was in school))
(yeeee okay!)
Astral looked down as Simon finished, letting out an audible sigh. Mia stiffened, setting her own empty plate down. The leopard shifted some in his sleep, moving to be laying on his back with his paws in the air. He opened one eye, looking up at Simon and shifting a bit closer to nudge his head against Simon's hand.
Simon tried to ignore the sound, instead focusing on the leopard. “Good morning.” He said to him, reaching out to pet the top of the leopard’s head.
The leopard closed his eyes in satisfaction as Simon pet his head, leaning into the hand some. He let out a small sound, the only way he could really think of to return the sentiment.
Simon smiled quickly, the expression leaving just as quickly as it had come. He continued to pet the big cat, moving a bit closer to his side.
Are you really that afraid to smile? Astral asked, voice soft in Simon's head. The leopard moved to roll back onto his stomach, rubbing against Simon's arm gently.
No, just didn’t really feel like it. he responded, gently scratching behind the leopard’s ear. As if the god wasn’t the whole reason he didn’t feel comfortable smiling.
Alright, then… Astral fell silent, moving to stand. The leopard let his eyes close as Simon scratched him, pushing up into his hand more.
Simon stayed quiet, not wanting to risk doing anything that would make Astral mad. It was much too early in the morning for that.
It really was. Astral moved to gently pick the room up again, holding it to his chest as he walked back towards the bedroom. Mia stiffened at the gentle sway, keeping quiet and close to Simon.
Simon reached out to grab Mia’s hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He couldn’t help but wonder how long Astral would keep them like this. But if he had to be around Astral, he honestly preferred being this size.
Mia squeezed back, resting her head on Simon's shoulder. Astral watched the two of them, setting the room back down on the bedside table. He hovered over them, thinking. He could always just lift Simon out. He'd love to hold his favorite little mortal, after all.
If that did happen, Simon would do his best not to put up a fight like he did yesterday. As long as the god didn’t try anything weird, he’d try to keep it together.
Astral would wait, for a bit. It was still early.
It didn't change that he was bored, though, and he was then tempted to turn the leopard into a human again. This whim he indulged in, holding back his own chuckle at the now human, and very confused, man sat on the bed with his head under Simon's hand.
Simon let out a quiet sigh. He felt bad for the poor thing but there was nothing he could do to help him today. “It’s okay…” he said quietly.
The leopard blinked for a moment, not saying a word as he closed his eyes. If he tried hard enough, he could forget. He was still in his own body. His ears were pinned to his head as he did his best to not cry.
Simon continued to pet him, doing his best to soothe him. He didn’t say anything else, knowing it’d be better for all of them that way.
The leopard curled up some on the bed, pressing close to Simon still. He hated this. He hated all of this. He just wanted to be himself…
Simon hoped it’d be enough to entertain Astral, at least for a little bit, but he doubted it. Simon pulled the blankets around the two of them a bit more, trying to make the other comfortable.
Astral rested his cheek in his hand, quiet for now. So boring, they weren't doing anything at all. He looked down at them, curious as to what he could do to get them to do something.
