Damien stuck the bag in the backseat, hopping into the driver's side. "Alright.. you ready to go, Ro?"
Damien stuck the bag in the backseat, hopping into the driver's side. "Alright.. you ready to go, Ro?"
"Yeah… m'ready…" Rowan sighed and buckled himself in. "Let's go."
Damien pulled them out of the driveway, making the short 5-ish minute drive to his house. He hopped out as soon as they stopped, grabbing his phone and going to help Rowan out of the car.
"Thanks, Damien…" Rowan sighed and got out with Damien's help. He looked up at the house, still seeming a bit tense.
"Yeah, it's nothin'." Damien responded, taking a second to grab Rowan's bag as well. "Don't worry about it."
Rowan headed up to the front door and opened it. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure Damien was still with him before he headed inside.
"Let's just drop everything off in my room. Then I can start dinner- it doesn't look like my parents are home right now, so.." Damien ran his fingers through his hair.
Rowan nodded and sighed softly, moving out of Damien's way. "I guess we'll have to explain the situation to them when they get back…"
"My dad'll get it, at least. You know he's chill." Damien walked them to his room, setting Rowan's stuff down on his bed. "My mom.. I dunno. She's not gonna kick you out, at least."
He nodded again, following Damien into the room. "Yeah… hopefully not. I'm not sure where I'd go." He laughed weakly.
"Yeah." Damien sat down on a beanbag, rubbing his eyes. "I gotta set up somewhere for you to sleep. After dinner, I guess."
"Mmkay… when will your parents be back?" Rowan asked softly, looking up when Ginger entered the room.
"Shouldn't be too long- hey, sweet girl.." Damien snapped his fingers to get Ginger's attention, luring her over so he could pet the cat's head.
Rowan pet Ginger gently. "She's a lot different than Milo, huh?" He said softly, laughing a bit. "Gotta be more gentle with her."
"Yeah. She's a sweetheart though." Damien kissed the top of the cat's head.
"Mhmm." Rowan scratched behind Ginger's ears. "Bet she weighs a hell of a lot less than Milo. You could just carry her around."
"Oh, yeah. Watch, she loves this." Damien scooped Ginger up in his arms like a baby. He was right- the cat was basically a ragdoll in his arms. "Bet you can't do that with Milo, huh?"
"I can, but he's a fat fuck and I can't do it for too long." Rowan laughed. "He sure thinks he's a lap dog, though."
Damien laughed louder than he expected, leaning back in the beanbag. "Wow, Ro, way to be harsh!" He snorted. "Ginger knows full well she's lap sized."
"Oh, don't worry about Milo… he knows I love him to bits. God knows where I'd be without that dog, honestly."
"Yeah. He's a good boy, I love him. Hopefully we can bring him over. Just worried about how this bitch is gonna react." He held Ginger up.
Rowan nodded. "Yeah… I really don't think he'd chase her or anything, to be honest, but she might still freak out because he's big…"
"Yeah." Damien set the cat back down on his lap, when she promptly leapt off and skulked over to Damien's bed. "She might chase him, though." He snorted.
"True, true." Rowan laughed. "Mi's a bit of a pushover because he's such a sweetheart, honestly."
Damien nodded. "Hey- you hungry? I'm probably gonna make dinner soon. Hungry as fuck right now."
