Melissa smiled and bit the inside of her cheek. “I like this,” she said.
Melissa smiled and bit the inside of her cheek. “I like this,” she said.
"Me too." Ciel agreed softly, smiling as well. "There's nothing quite like relaxing somewhere pretty with someone wonderful." She pressed her lips together, suddenly shy again.
Melissa blushed deepened. “Hmm yeah. You are really nice to be around too,” she said stumbling on her words slightly.
"Thanks!" Ciel exclaimed brightly, her cheeks turning pink. Any time Melissa complemented her, Ciel's heart just about exploded with warmth.
Melissa nodded and took her hand again. She smiled wider her blush fading.
Ciel sighed softly, looking over at Melissa slowly. If only this could last forever, instead of only when Branden wasn't around. If only Melissa was Ciel's girlfriend instead of Branden's– she shook her head slightly, dislodging the thought before it could take hold. It wouldn't do her any good.
Melissa bit her lip. She tries to keep her mind off of Brandon and well her whole life. She tapped her free fingers on the grass. She realized Ciel had something on her mind. "You ok?" She asked.
"Hmm?" Ciel blinked, then nodded. "Yeah. Just got lost in my thoughts," she explained, laughing slightly. There was no way she could tell Melissa what she had been thinking of. Who knew how she might react?
"You sure?" she asked hand tightening on hers slightly. Then her phone rang she picked it up.
"Yeah." Ciel nodded. She would talk about it later… much, much later. Maybe never, though. She jumped slightly at the ringing phone, then immediately hoped that it didn't mean Melissa had to leave.
Melissa was silent for a second with the phone to her ear. Her smile faded and she bit her lip. “Yeah I’ll be there in a few minutes. Went to the store really quick,” she finally said.
"Do you… do you have to leave?" Ciel asked softly, her mouth turning down slightly. Based on what she had heard, Melissa did need to leave. But she was holding onto the hope that maybe… just maybe, she didn't have to.
Melissa nodded. “Yeah I do but the games practically over,” she said.
"Oh, okay. I should probably just go too. How are you getting to the party?" Ciel asked, sitting up and looking over at Melissa. It would be nice to get a ride, but if the ride was with Branden, then she should probably figure out another way.
“Brandon and his friends. There’s room for one more if you need a ride,” she said.
Ciel nodded slowly. She had been so sure a few seconds ago, but now she was wondering just how she would get there. Her moms probably wouldn't appreciate having to drive her, and she had no idea where the party was anyways. Brandon already hated her anyway, so who cared? "Sure, I'll come with if I can!"
Melissa nodded. “Ok good. We should get going,” she said standing up still holding her hand.
"Yeah." Ciel nodded, getting up as well. "I guess we'll see who won, eh?" She laughed slightly, not exactly looking forward to a car ride with Brandon and his friends. But the party afterward would be worth it, hopefully.
Melissa nodded. “I guess so,” she said walking out of the clearing. She let go of her hand again when they where near the field.
Ciel let go of Melissa's hand reluctantly, though she knew it was the right thing. As she walked, she got herself ready for Brandon and his friends. Starting a fight with them would not be a good idea.
Melissa walked up to Brandon and his friends. The game seemed to of ended and they looked happy. That meant they probably won. “Hey I told Ciel we can give her a lift to the party,” she said. Brandon just nodded and continued with his conversation.
Ciel looked everywhere but at Brandon. She stayed quiet too, not wanting to attract any of his attention. At least he didn't seem to care that she was coming with them. That was something.
Melissa smiled at Ciel and stood next to her. Once they had all there stuff they moved to the car.
Ciel smiled at Melissa. At least there was one good thing about this whole thing. She stayed back when they walked to the car, still trying to be invisible.
Brandon got in the drivers seat one of his friends next to him. Melissa got in the middle seat so she’d be in between the other friend and Ciel.
