Melissa smiled slightly into the kiss. Her hand going up and over Ciel’s.
Melissa smiled slightly into the kiss. Her hand going up and over Ciel’s.
Ciel's eyes fluttered shut and she leaned into the kiss slightly. In the back of her mind, she was really thankful Melissa hadn't immediately pulled away.
Melissa pulled away from the kiss after a long moment.
Ciel let her eyes open slowly and she stared at Melissa with a sort of amazed look on her face. She had no idea what to say, so she didn't say anything.
Melissa's cheeks turned red and she shook. "I umm I shouldn't of done that."
"What?" Ciel blinked, slightly confused. Then she remembered Brandon's existence. "Oh, I mean… I'm fine with it. It was nice, I mean." She stumbled over her words, trying to convince Melissa that it was okay.
Melissa looked down and shook her head slightly. "No sorry I-" She cut herself off slightly. Thinking hard.
Ciel stared at Melissa, her eyes wide. What in the world was going to happen now? She had no idea what she wanted to happen now. What would Melissa do? It looked like she was thinking about something.
"I- Ciel I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry," She said shaking her head and standing up. "I-I really like you but-"
"Okay, yeah. You're fine," Ciel said softly. "I understand. You have all that…" She waved her hands around them vaguely, not sure herself what she was trying to say.
Melissa nodded keeping her head down. "Yeah," She whispered.
"Um…" Ciel blinked and looked up. The TV was on and the movie was still playing, which was just so weird she almost laughed. She didn't though. It wasn't funny enough for that.
Melissa didn't say anything for a moment. "Do you- do you want to finish the movie?" She asked with a weak smile.
"Yeah, sure." Ciel nodded, returning Melissa's smile. The only thing she had going for her was the epic ending to the movie. At least she had that to look forward to and focus on.
Melissa nodded and moved over slightly. Leaving more space between her and Ciel. She know she messed up. She tried to focus on the movie. They missed a little bit of it.
All of Ciel's attention was focused on the movie. She didn't let any thoughts that didn't have to do with what was happening on the screen into her mind. When something funny happened, she laughed, and the laugh wasn't even all that faked.
Melissa watched silently. she kept her head straight and tried her best not to even glance at Ciel.
Ciel's eyes felt tired after focusing so hard on the screen, but it was the only way for her to not look over at Melissa. She didn't know what emotion she would feel if she gave in, but she was sure it wasn't going to help the present situation.
they sat their awkwardly until the movie ended. She didn't say anything but she did sit up more.
Ciel finally glanced over at Melissa– just for a second, though. "Um… what now?" She asked, her voice soft. The question was about what they should do after the movie, but it was also about what they should do after what had happened during the movie.
"I think we should call it a night," she said not looking at Ciel. She looked down at her blanket.
"Alright. Good idea." Ciel nodded and started getting up. Leaving was probably the best thing to do. She'd need time to think through what had happened that night.
Melissa nodded and stayed still thinking. She finally looked up Ciel but didn't say anything.
"So, uh… I'll get going now. See you later?" Ciel said, though it was more a question than anything. "Bye, I guess." She gave Melissa a small smile and walked towards the door.
Melissa smiled back but a little too late. she watched the other girl leave. (Time skip to Monday at school?)
