"A party, huh?" Ciel raised her eyebrows, considering Melissa's offer. Parties usually weren't that fun, but when she had some friends there… "You know what, I think I'll come. Offer you a little company, you know?" She shrugged, trying to ignore the fast pace of her heartbeat.
Melissa smiled. “Oh thank god. They are usually so boring. It’ll be fun with you though,” she said her smile growing
"Yeah! We'll have a great time!" Ciel exclaimed, grinning. She was excited for the party now, even though parties had never really been her thing. But hey, Melissa was going to be there. "Could you text me the address and time I should arrive?"
"sure!" she said. "It's going to be after the football game. Don't know why they are planning a party when they could lose." She leaned on the wall.
"Huh. That doesn't really make sense. I guess they're just super sure of themselves? Or they don't care if they win or lose?" Ciel shrugged. "Are you going to the game as well or just the party?"
"I'm going to the game but I have to go a little late. Have to drop Lili off at the babysitter's. house," she said. "You don't have to go to the game it gets really boring."
"Ah, cool. I'll think about it. Football isn't my thing, but…" Ciel turned towards Melissa. "Tell me, is it really that bad?" She didn't have much doubt that it was going to be boring, but she wanted to hear what else Melissa had to say.
"Extremely," She mumbled. "But honestly seeing everyone freak out over a ball being thrown around is pretty funny. Plus it's fun to watch the cheerleaders they are better than the actual football team. I never whent to any of the games at my old school so not sure if that's a normal thing."
"Huh." Ciel paused, pondering what to do again. "You know what, I think I'll go with you– if that's okay. I do enjoy laughing at people. And watching the cheerleaders sounds fun." She smiled at Melissa, hoping that she agreed to Ciel coming. The only reason that Ciel would go would be if she could hang out with Melissa. Otherwise, it wouldn't be that fun.
Melissa smiled. "That'll make it a lot better!" She said. She tried not to think about how Branden might react. Then again he seemed more okay with Ciel since she walked in on them. Probably scared Ciel might tell someone if she just leaves her. "Now I actually can't wait. Its a home game which is good. Not really sure who they are against though."
"Perfect!" Ciel grinned with excitement. She was sure this was the most excited she'd been about going to a football game, but hey. She was getting to spend some time with Melissa– a lot of time, actually, since after they were going to a party. "Home games are good. Much easier to go to. And who cares who they're up against?" Ceil smirked. "Everyone will get way too into it no matter who it is."
Melissa nodded. "Yeah they usually do," She said. She crossed her legs. She couldn't wait to spend time with Ciel. "This is going to be so much fun!"
"It really is," Ciel agreed, giving Melissa what could only be described as a smile of pure joy. Hopefully, Melissa wouldn't get too uncomfortable about how happy Ciel was about spending time with her… but Ciel couldn't help herself.
(Sorry I keep disappearing. Kind of thought I responded)
Melissa smiled wider seeing how happy Ciel was. “So have any homework?” She asked.
(You're good!)
It looked like Melissa wasn't against the amount of happiness that Ciel was feeling, which just made her even happier. "Not really. I finished it all during lunch, thankfully." She nodded slightly, her lips lifted in a slight smile.
“Great! I didn’t get to finish much but I’ll just do it later,” she said keeping her eyes on Ciel. (Do you want to do a time skip to Friday soon?)
"Well, I believe in you. That homework won't know what hit it," Ciel said, her eyes sparkling. She really couldn't wait for Friday to come.
(Yeah, sure. You can handle it if you want to! :)
Missa smiled and blushed slightly. Nothing eventful happened the rest of the week. On Monday Melissa and Ciel made a plan to meet up at the football game. She got there right before it started.
Ciel had been extremely excited for the entire week but tried her best not to show it too much. When the day of the game arrived, she actually got to the game a little early. She looked around, finally spotting Melissa. "Hey, there!" Ciel waved at Melissa, a bright smile on her face.
Melissa waved back and walked over. “Hey,” she said looking around. “We should go to the top bleachers,” she said seeing empty seats in the corner.
"Good idea." Ciel nodded, spotting the empty seats Melissa was probably looking at. She started towards the top of the bleachers, hoping the way there wouldn't be too crowded.
Melissa followed. It was pretty crowded but they where able to get through. She sat down. And looked at Ciel. “This is a pretty good view!”
Ciel sat down next to her and nodded. "It is. And with no one behind us, we lower our chances of people being offended if I make fun of the football players," she contained softly, giving Melissa a smirk.
Melissa smiled and lightly bumped shoulders with Melissa. "Yeah these fans can be pretty sensitive sometimes so might want to keep your voice down," She said turning to face her.
"Yeah, I got that vibe," Ciel said, leaning toward Melissa slightly so she could hear Ceil. "It's kind of funny to watch, though." She turned to look at Melissa, her eyes sparkling with humor. Ciel was really glad Melissa wasn't too into the game, because that meant she could make fun of it with her.
