“Yep! This stuffs getting really hard,” she admits.
“Yep! This stuffs getting really hard,” she admits.
"It is. I'll need to remember to keep taking notes, or I'll be screwed." Ciel grimaced, looking from Melissa to the teacher. She gave the teacher a glare while their back was turned as if she was trying to stop them from putting a new problem up.
Melissa laughed and kept her eyes on Ciel. "your fricken adorable," She mummbled slightly dazed.
Ciel looked back at Melissa, a surprised look on her face. "Uh… Well, I'm not nearly as cute as you," she answered, her face getting even more red when she realized what she'd just said. "I mean… Um."
Melissa blushed deeply. “I Umm thank you,” she said her voice low. She looked down at her desk. why did I say that? she checked the time. The bell was about to ring.
"You're, uh, welcome," Ciel said, her voice breathy. She was sure her face was basically a tomato right then. Why had that line come out of her mouth? Had she just made everything even weirder between her and Melissa?
The bell rang and Melissa stood up. “I’ll see you at gym?” She asked gathering her things.
"Yeah," Ciel agreed, placing her notebook into her backpack and standing up as well. She guessed that meant Melissa wouldn't be joining her for lunch, but she didn't comment on that.
Melissa smiled and waved before leaving.
Ciel waved back at her, then started towards her next class. Her face was finally going back to its regular color, but she was still overcome with embarrassment.
Melissa sat with Brandon and his friends during lunch. She didn't talk to them and blushed slightly as her mind drifted to the conversation she had with Ciel. Great now you really made things awkward.
Ciel, not wanting to ever go back to the noisy, crowded lunchroom, went to the library. She had a faint hope that Melissa would be there, but it was crushed the second she walked in. The place where Melissa normally sat was empty. Still, Ciel went and sat at her normal spot. To distract herself from what she'd said to Melissa, Ciel put on some music and worked on some homework she'd gotten.
Right after lunch Melissa whent to the Gym. Successfully sneaking away from Brandon. She went to the locker room hoping to see Ciel.
Ciel had lost track of time listening to music and managed to run into the gym just in time. "Curses," she muttered, glancing around. Should she go into the locker room? She was a little hesitant, considering what happened last time, but that would probably be where Melissa was. Ciel opened the door as loudly as she could to announce her presence, then walked into the locker room.
Melissa stood up and waved at Ciel. she was all alone near their usual spot. "Hey," she said smiling at her.
"Oh, hey!" Ciel waved back at Melissa and walked over. A wave of relief and happiness washed over her when she saw that Melissa was alone. "How are you doing?" She asked, giving Melissa a warm smile.
“I’m good. Classes where boring but other than that good. You?” She asked sitting back down. She was slightly tense but she was trying to relax.
"Yeah, basically the same. These teachers really need to figure out some better ways of conveying information, because what they're doing right now is not working." Ciel laughed, walking over to where Melissa was sitting and sitting down next to her.
Melissa laughed with her. “Yeah it goes in one ear and out the other,” she said. “Lunch was definitely boring though too.”
"Oh, yeah. I did a lot of homework during lunch, which sucked. But I managed to avoid going totally crazy by listening to music. The one upside." Ciel shrugged, wanting to add that it was also boring because Melissa wasn't there, but deciding not to. It might make things even weirder between them.
“I didn’t get any work done,” she said sighing slightly. “I plan on doing it after school though. Just wish I could of been in the library.”
"Oh, that sucks," Ciel said, glancing over at Melissa. "I wish you could have been in the library too– I was a little lonely without you." She laughed slightly, giving Melissa a smile.
Melissa nodded blushing but laughing along. “Yeah. Kind of forgot how loud the cafeteria is.”
"Oh, yeah. I'm glad you introduced me to the library. I'm not going back to that place unless there's a world-shattering emergency or something." Ciel shook her head. "It's so… bleh there." She made a face.
Melissa nodded agreeing. “Yeah. Hey so not sure if You’d want to but Brandon’s having a party this Friday. I usually just stick around for a bit have a drink or two then sneak to my room. Would you maybe want to come?”
