Halm patted Cas's head lightly, going out to make breakfast.
Cas stayed asleep for now, his cat laying on top of him.
Halm started cooking, humming to himself.
When Cas inevitably woke up, he was freezing as usual. He hesitated a good long while before getting out of bed and beginning to shiver violently. He started rooting through Halm's clothes until he found a hoodie and pulled it on, disregarding the fact that he could easily trip on it. He toddled out to the kitchen with Nix on his shoulder.
Halm looked over at Cas when he heard the other coming, freezing a moment. He was trying not to say anything about how adorable Cas looked.
Cas stumbled a bit as he walked in. He'd pulled his arms fully into the hoodie by now and was hugging himself tightly to preserve heat.
Halm's hand came towards Cas when he stumbled in case he fell. He sighed softly, chuckling a little.
"How are you?" He asked.
"Cold…" Cas muttered, flopping against Halm so he could try to steal his warmth as well. "It's still cold everywhere…"
"Well, it'll get warmer eventually," Halm promised. In the mean time, he scooped Cas up in one arm. The man was absolutely adorable, wrapped up in the hoodie in Halm's arm like that.
Cas closed his eyes and huddled up against Halm. "When's it gonna get warm?" He asked softly. "And sorry I stole your hoodie. It's warmer than my clothes…"
"In a couple days at least," Halm said. "And don't worry about it, I just want you to be warm enough." Halm smiled, finishing up breakfast for them and taking it over to the table.
Cas glanced up when he noticed they were heading over to the table. "What's for food today?" He asked.
"Omelette," Halm said. He didn't bother trying to set Cas in his own chair this time, just sitting then both down to eat.
"Mmkay." Cas adjusted himself in Halm's lap so that he'd be able to eat and began doing so.
Halm started eating as well, not taking long.
Cas ate somewhat quickly, but it still took him a lot longer to finish than it took Halm.
Halm waited patiently for Cas to finish, his arms wrapped around Cas's waist.
Cas soon finished and huddled close to Halm, seeming content and comfortable for now.
Halm sat for a moment, in no rush to get up.
"Did you like it?"
"Mhmm… you're good at cooking…" Cas yawned a bit and smiled softly as he huddled close.
Halm smiled at the compliment.
"Thank you," he said. He put both plates in a stack, pushing them away.
Cas adjusted himself to be more comfortable and hummed contentedly to himself. "Do you have any plans for today?"
"Well, I do have work to do in the gardens," Halm said. He was also going to have a little talk with Cas's father, but he wouldn't mention that.
"Okay… what do you want me to do?" He asked. He tucked his arms up against his chest and leaned into Halm's warmth.
"Well, you could come with me if you want to. You could also go pretty much anywhere in this world. There isn't much that's dangerous here." He kept his arms around Cas, relaxed.
