@Fraust
Nix flushed lightly and looked away. "W-Well, I'm glad you think so, at least… What if I deserved it, though?"
Nix flushed lightly and looked away. "W-Well, I'm glad you think so, at least… What if I deserved it, though?"
"Well, if it's hard for me to imagine you doing anything that deserves someone being mad at you," Derlik said. "But if you really did… Well, anger isn't the only way to handles things like that."
"I guess…" Nix fidgeted nervously with his hands, not quite sure what to do with himself. "I just want everybody to like me and not be mad at me…"
"Well, you're doing a really, really good job of it," Derlik said softly. The only person who seemed to not like Nix was Mother, and there wasn't really anything they could do about that. She hated most everyone, anyway.
"You think so?" Nix asked softly, turning his gaze up to Derlik. He seemed pretty uneasy still, and not entirely convinced.
"I most definitely do," Derlik agreed. "You're an amazing person, Nix. Trust me, I would know." The god kissed Nix's head, scratching behind his ears.
Nix flushed a bit and closed his eyes, still fidgeting nervously with his hands. "I-I… um… I'm glad you think so, Derlik…"
Derlik offered a gentle smile.
"Everyone here does, Nix," the god promised.
Nix buried his flushed face in Derlik's chest, turning his ears back again. "Well, I'm… um… I-I'm glad…"
Derlik hugged Nix gently, patting the man's back.
"I am too…"
"What should we do now?" Nix asked softly. "We've got a couple days until we gotta go back…"
"Well… what would you like to do? I'm open to anything." Derlik hummed some, looking down at Nix.
Nix shrugged a bit. "We already went on an adventure and there's not a whole lot to do here."
"Yeah… Life on the surface is a lot more interesting," Derlik said with a soft laugh.
"Mhmm… it wasn't great for Cas and I, to be honest. It's only good up there if you aren't poor."
"True…" Derlik let out a breath. "But at least now you two don't have to worry about that, right?"
"Right. We don't really need money to survive down here." Nix shrugged a bit and yawned.
"Mhm… And when you do go to the surface, we can provide any you'd need." Derlik yawned in turn, chuckling some.
"Oh no, they're contagious…"
"Hmm? What's contagious?" Nix asked, obviously bewildered. "Is somebody here sick?" He looked around worriedly.
"No, no, no one is sick," Derlik promised, holding back a chuckle. "When you yawned, I yawned too, see? It was a joke, I promise."
"Ohhh…" Nix turned back to Derlik, seeming reassured. "I guess that makes sense. I'm not super familiar with phrases like that…"
"It's okay, Nix. I'll help you out whenever something is said you don't get, kay?" Derlik smiled, kissing the top of Nix's head.
"Mmkay!" Nix smiled brightly and purred, huddling closer to Derlik. "Cas never had a lot of friends to talk to, so I'm not used to that kinda thing."
"Makes sense," Derlik said. "But now he has Zach, and Ms. Serna. You do too, and me."
"Mhmm. Zachary and I don't always get along, but… you know. We gotta coexist, so…" He shrugged a bit.
