"Aww~! She's so cute!!" Matthew smiled at the dog, kneeling down and offering his hand to the dog.
"Aww~! She's so cute!!" Matthew smiled at the dog, kneeling down and offering his hand to the dog.
"Isn't she?" Rowan smiled softly as he pet the excited husky. "She's such a sweetheart… she can't talk or anything or do much, but she's great."
Matthew pet the dog as well, grinning down at her.
"Aw, she's just so sweet… She'll thrive, I'm sure of it."
"I hope you're right…" Rowan sighed softly. "Alright. We really gotta get my stuff now." He pulled Matthew along to his room, where he pulled out a large suitcase and started packing up his clothes.
"Ah- right." Matthew moved in, looking around. "Is there anything you need me to grab?"
"Uhm… maybe go grab Maisie's leash and food? They're in the closet near the kitchen… you know what leashes are, right?" He asked.
"I have an idea of it!' Matthew grinned some to finally recognize the things Rowan was talking about. He walked through the apartment, going to find the closet Rowan had talked about to get the things.
Rowan kept stuffing his clothes into the suitcase as well as he could, not wanting to leave anything important behind. "My mother should still be awake, so we can help her pack when we get there…"
Matthew carried the leash and the food back, nodding as he listened.
"Well, then! It shouldn't be long at all before we get back then."
"Hopefully not…" Rowan sighed softly and kept packing, rooting around for everything in his room that was important to him.
"Is there anything else?" Matthew hummed a bit, petting Maisie as he looked at Rowan.
"Uhm… I think that's about everything? I shouldn't need to grab food because y'all have that…" Rowan closed up his suitcase and dragged it up with him.
"Okay! Off to your mother's then, yes? Here, I can carry that-" Matthew held out one hand to take the suitcase, smiling.
"Thanks… and yes, we should be able to just walk there." Rowan passed off the suitcase to Matthew, clipped Maisie's leash to her collar, and headed outside.
Matthew held the suitcase in one hand, using the other to hold Rowan's hand. Timmy was frightened a bit by all the loud noises and bright sounds, and even more so by the energetic dog. He whimpered a bit, hiding himself in Rowan's hair.
"It's okay, baby… Maisie's not gonna hurt you, I promise. I won't let her." Rowan pet Timmy gently to comfort him and continued leading Matthew along.
Matthew watched with a concerned look as they walked. Timmy was trembling a bit, latching on to Rowan's finger.
"Shh… you're alright…" Rowan sighed softly. Soon, they reached an apartment a few minutes away from Rowan's. He knocked on the door and a plump, pleasant looking blonde woman answered the door. "Rowan! What are you doing over so late? And with a friend?" She ushered the two of them inside. "Um… this is kinda hard to explain, but I'm moving to Matthew's world with him and I'd like you to come with me?"
Matthew offered a polite smile when Rowan's mother came to the door, saying a soft hello. He blinked a bit, ducking his head when he was ushered into the apartment.
"A-ah… Well, like Rowan said, well…"
"Another world?" She asked, confused. She noticed Timmy and grew even more bewildered. "And who's this? How is he so… small?" Rowan kept petting Timmy with a soft sigh. "Um… this is Timmy. He's technically a bird, but this is what birds look like from Matthew's world… it's really nice there! Everyone is super nice and there aren't really any wars out fighting and it's just generally a really good place to live. But… I don't want to go without you. I know you were talking about maybe wanting to move, and this would be a great place for us! We could start a new life there and it would be great…" Rowan's mother smiled gently at her son. "Alrighty. When do we need to be gone by?" Rowan sighed softly in relief and hugged his mother tightly. "Thank you so much, mom… and um… preferably tonight?" He smiled sheepishly. "We'll help you pack!"
Timmy looked up at Rowan's mother when he was mentioned. He waved shyly, hiding his face in Rowan's finger. Matthew let out a sigh of relief when Rowan explained, nodding along. He was so glad she'd agreed.
"Yes, I'd be more than happy to help you pack, ma'am." He smiled down at her, folding his hands in front of him.
"Alrighty! Let's get going if we're heading out so soon, then!" She went and grabbed her big suitcase and started packing. Rowan trotted alongside her to help her out.
Matthew set Rowan's suitcase down, going in to see how he could help. He kept his covering over his wings for now, shifting them a bit to get more comfortable.
Rowan started gathering his mother's little collectables while she packed up her clothes. "I'll give you the ring when you're ready, okay?" "Ring? What ring?" His mother asked curiously. "Oh, it's a magic ring. It'll send us back to Matthew's world." "Ah, alright…"
Matthew stayed quiet as he helped Rowan worked, humming softly to himself. He smiled, looking up.
