Rowan nodded a bit. "Okay… t-thank you…" He stuck close to Matthew, clearly nervous. All of this made it all feel so much more real and it was stressing him out.
Rowan nodded a bit. "Okay… t-thank you…" He stuck close to Matthew, clearly nervous. All of this made it all feel so much more real and it was stressing him out.
Matthew counted the rings offered, thinking a moment.
"A-actually, sir, may be please have five?" He looked at Timmy, sighing softly.
Rowan glanced up at Timmy. "Oh, right… he'll need one too, won't he?" He sighed softly as well.
Matthew nodded a bit. The mage looked at Timmy as well, not saying a word as he pulled out another ring.
"Tell me, how long do you think you'll be staying in your world until you get back again?" he asked.
"Uhm… probably no longer than a day, sir. We're planning on trying to get back here soon after we get my things…"
The mage nodded a bit.
"I see, I see… And… you do realize it will be extremely hard to hide his man from other people, yes?"
"Uhm… y-yes… do you have any advice on that front? I'm not sure I'll be able to get all my stuff in one trip all by myself…"
The mage thought a moment.
"The easiest thing to do is wear a cloak," he said. "The avian will still stand out, you can't very well hide his height, but that will be easy enough to pass off as possible."
Rowan nodded a bit and huddled closer to Matthew. "Okay… at least we'll be leaving right after. Even if someone think's it's suspicious, it's not like they can do anything…"
Matthew wrapped his arms a bit more around Rowan, looking up at the mage.
"Good." The man wrapped the rings up in a parcel, offering them to the two.
"These will take you back and forth only once, so you have one trip to get everything you need."
"Thank you, sir. Will they transport us immediately?" He asked, tentatively accepting the small parcel from the mage.
"They will the moment you put them on." The mage leaned back once Rowan had taken the parcel.
"Is there anything else you need?"
"Uhm… unless Matthew has anything in mind, I think that we're okay, right?" He looked up at Matthew for confirmation.
"Yes, we're okay." The mage nodded again.
"So, how much do we own you?" The mage shook his head a bit. "It was my mistake that caused you to end up in this situation."
"Are you sure?" Rowan asked softly, huddling a little closer to Matthew as he looked up at the mage.
"I'm sure." Matthew nodded a bit at the man's words, standing up.
"Thank you," he said, holding Rowan close.
"Thank you, sir…" Rowan dipped his head politely and pulled out a ring. Once the others were ready, he closed his eyes and slipped it on.
Matthew slipped a ring around Timmy, which fit nicely around his waist. Matthew put his own on, and in a moment they were all in Rowan's world. It was night, surprisingly, but it also meant there would be slightly less people they'd have to dodge.
"Which way to your home?" Matthew asked, having no idea where it was or how close they were to it. Everything was so… bright. And loud. He winced a bit, keeping his wings folded close to himself.
Rowan looked around a bit before just slipping down out of Matthew's arms. "Follow me. How are we going to get everything back in one go? And my mother's things too?" He asked curiously.
Matthew stayed close behind Rowan.
"Ah… if we have the items all touching us, we could theoretically just put the rings on or take them off and go back to my world just then and there."
"Hmm… we might need some suitcases." Rowan laughed weakly. "It'll be hard to have everything touching us without them."
"Suit..case..?" Matthew shook his head a bit. So many things were new these days…
"Uhm… it's kind of like a bag, but it's a hard, rectangular box instead? Sorry, I'm bad at explaining things…" Rowan sighed. "You can put your things in it."
"Ah, okay! It's fine, really. I'll be getting to see one anyway." Matthew held Rowan's hand in his as they walked, making sure his wings were covered.
Rowan nodded a bit and continued leading Matthew along. Soon, they reached his small apartment and they were greeted by a very excited dog. "Hey, Maisie! We're gonna be moving out, so I hope you're ready."
