"Sounds pretty to me!" Matthew smiled, resting his head against Rowan's again. "They'll look adorable. I'll get started on then as soon as I get my hands on some dyes!"
"Sounds pretty to me!" Matthew smiled, resting his head against Rowan's again. "They'll look adorable. I'll get started on then as soon as I get my hands on some dyes!"
"Alright! Sounds good!" Rowan smiled brightly back up at Matthew and huddled a little closer, keeping a firm hold on the bird nest.
Matthew grinned, arms secure around Rowan and tightening a bit. Tammy managed to get Tommy off of herself, finally, after the chick fell asleep. She came out to the entrance of the nest, trying to get out.
"Nah ah, you gotta stay in for now, baby." Rowan gently nudged Tammy back into the nest and kept his hand down by her.
Tammy huffed a bit, leaning into Rowan's hand but sulking a bit. She wanted to go out and about, and explore this strange new world.
"Not yet." Rowan soothed, gently rubbing the chick's head with his thumb. "You can look around a bit the next time we stop."
Tammy begrudgingly leaned into Rowan's rubbing, letting out a soft coo. It felt good.
"See? Isn't that nice? Now, settle down… we're gonna take care of you." Rowan smiled gently.
Tammy settled down completely in Rowan's hand. Tommy woke up slightly, just enough to go cuddle with his sister. Matthew smiled gently.
"You're doing really good with them," Matthew offered sweetly.
"Thanks, Matthew… gotta keep them in line, you know?" Rowan smiled down at the chicks and hummed softly to himself.
Matthew nodded a bit.
"Yes, or course. And you're gentle while doing it." Matthew smiled again.
"You make a great dad."
"Aww, thanks~" Rowan nuzzled against Matthew with a bright smile on his face. "I'm glad they listen to me."
"They've been very good, yes." Matthew smiled, leaning into the nuzzling. "You're raising them right. Most make mistakes, but you really haven't."
Rowan smiled a bit brighter up at Matthew. "Thanks! I'm glad you think so! I really don't wanna raise brats. I want them to trust me."
Matthew grinned back.
"You're welcome! And how could you ever raise brats? Besides, if you need any help I'm sure your mother will love to help too. She obviously did an amazing job."
Rowan flushed a bit and looked away shyly. "Thanks for the sentiment, Matthew… and I'm sure my mother would love to meet them."
Matthew smiled sweetly, his own cheeks heating up a bit.
"Of course… I'm sure she'll love being a grandma to these three," he teased lightly.
Rowan nodded and adjusted his grip on the nest. "She's wanted to be a grandma for ages. I'm sure she'll be delighted."
Matthew smiled.
"I'm sure she will. She's an amazing person, from what you've said." he smiled sweetly at Rowan again.
"She really is… I really love her." Rowan hummed happily and rubbed Tammy's head again. "She's the best mom I could ask for."
Matthew nodded a bit. Tammy leaned into Rowan's hand, having given up on trying to explore for now.
"I'm excited for you to meet her!" Rowan smiled brightly up at Matthew. "You two are gonna get along great."
Matthew grinned back.
"Good! The city should only be a day or two away, now, so I'll get to meet her soon!"
"Yep! Assuming everything goes smoothly, anyway." Rowan hummed softly. "I dunno exactly how magic works."
"It'll go smoothly," Matthew promised. "We'll go to the best mage in the city. They're probably the reason you ended up here in the first place…" Matthew smiled a bit, arms tightening around Rowan a bit.
