"Unfortunately, no," Tohru sighed, "Sometimes even neighbors don't notice. There have been targets before that I took out, and not a word from the community in response."

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru went back to his art. A little bird species from his home planet, really the only thing he missed. He wondered what it was like to miss home. If he too would miss home if his was destroyed.
He worked while he waited for Davin to go to work, occasionally taking a break to talk to his roommate.

Davin read for a while, then got up and got ready to go. Once he was dressed, he came over to Tohru. "Well. Wish me luck, I'm off to the new job." he said, giving Tohru a quick, soft smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded a bit. "Alright. Just stay safe, alright?" he replied. He put his shoes on, and then was heading out the door. He didn't want to be late to his first day, after all. That would be irritating.

@Becfromthedead group

"You too," Tohru replied.
With that, he started getting ready to go. He put on full black clothes, all to make sure he made as little of an impression as possible, wherever he had to go. He packed up a couple of knives, his blaster, and a few other small tools that might help him with the job.
Once he was certain Davin was well ahead of him, Tohru left to do some tracking.

@Becfromthedead group

(Yeah, works for me)
It only took Tohru an hour to pinpoint the location of his bounty. His investigation and a little luck pointed him in the right direction a lot quicker than expected.
While Tohru was out on his investigation, he did, in fact grab a gift for Davin; a comfortable sweater with a loose hood in a soft dandelion color that was not quite gold. He tucked it away in his bag and turned his attention back to the task at hand.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(alright. When to?)

Davin's work was not, he discovered, too hard. It was pretty easy, without being mind-numbingly boring. So, it was pretty good.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(here we go!)

Davin had been at work for quite a while, when Vex came in. Davin was currently working the register, and was a bit surprised to see Vex. He greeted the other with a smile and a wave, despite his confusion. He had thought that Tohru was going out with Vex? But why was Vex here, if that was the case?

@Becfromthedead group

Vex placed his few items down on the counter, including a soda bottle, a bag of rice, and a box of cigarettes. He started to pull out a wad of cash from his pocket when he recognized Davin.
"Hey, you're Tohru's mate. Take it you got the job?" he asked.
Vex was clearly dragging, having just come from work. There were a few small wet spots on his clothes, and he reeked of alcohol, though he seemed sober himself.

Tohru was well-prepared for his target, and this kill would go much more smoothly than the last. The target came home after a night of drinking and partying. She was all alone, in a little apartment complex in a rough part of Torchwood. No one would notice she was gone, and she was stumbling, probably barely able to remember her own name. He almost felt bad about killing her, but he had to remind himself what her reason for bounty targeting was; she was a drug dealer and directly responsible for several deaths related to the drugs being laced with other substances, and police were having trouble catching her. She was wanted dead or alive, and Tohru hadn't quite made a decision yet.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin was still confused. Tohru had said he was meeting up with Vex. So why was Vex here? "I'm Davin, yeah. Tohru's friend. I got the job." he started to ring up the items, trying to figure out if he could ask Vex about meeting up with Tohru. "Are you…going out with Tohru tonight?" he finally asked, punching in some of the numbers on the register. "Or…?"

@Becfromthedead group

Vex tilted his head a bit. "No, I just got off work. Headed straight home. It's been a long day," he said, "Why do you ask? Did he say something about me?"
Vex passed his card over to pay.

Tohru rifled through his bag on the side of the apartment building, searching for anything nonlethal he had on hand. He still had his cuffs. She was small enough, and she was intoxicated. He figured it was only fair to leave her alive and let someone else pass judgement. But if she fought back too hard, he would pull the trigger.
It was a warmer night, and Tohru's target had a window cracked open. That would be his entry point, and he should be able to take her by surprise.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin's brows pulled together in a slightly confused frown. "I…yeah, he said something about plans to meet up, but maybe he meant he was thinking about it? I'm not really sure." he thought that Tohru had said he was meeting up with Vex, but maybe he had misheard.

@Becfromthedead group

"I don't really know," Vex replied with a shrug, "He didn't even ask me. If you see him before I do, tell him I'd be happy to hang out. He doesn't have to be shy. But hey, nice running into you here. I'm a regular, so I'll probably be seeing you sometimes at least."

Tohru scaled the fire escape on the side of the building, careful to not make too much noise and avoid all other windows. When he got to the woman's bedroom, he saw her passed out in bed, still in the clothes she had gone out in. Tohru stepped into the apartment, cuffs out and ready to snap on her wrists. She didn't move. At first, he was afraid that she was dead. But it couldn't have happened that fast. He lost sight of her for ten minutes. But she was still breathing. Just out cold. Too much to drink? Maybe she'd been drugged.
Regardless, it made Tohru’s job way too easy. He rarely had a target fall so easily into his lap. He sent out a notification to the agency and waited for someone to meet him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded a little. "Probably meant to and forget, I suppose." he replied, shrugging his shoulders. "It was nice to see you, I hope we do see each other again." he gave Vex a quick smile, even though he knew facial expressions could be difficult for others to see because of the shadows caused by his hood. He hated the thing, but it was necessary if he wanted to go undetected.

@Becfromthedead group

"Yes, it's good to see you too," Vex agreed, a tired smile spreading across his face, "Anyway, I'm headed home. Today was something else. I had to clean vomit out of the bathrooms, which is a bit… more than we normally have to deal with. I just want to sit in the shower for an hour."

Tohru got his pay for the job. It was a pretty well-paying job for one that had been so strangely easy, but he would gladly take it. He started on his walk home.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin grimaced. "Gross. Good night." he replied, waving as Vex walked out the door. Davin still had about an hour left of his shift, and so he wondered just what to do now.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru managed to get home before Davin. No blood to clean up, no injuries. Everything went well this time. He changed into something more comfortable when he got home and pulled the garment he bought for Davin.
Gods, I hope he actually likes it…

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin eventually finished up his shift, and headed home. The streets were dark, and he could hear people every now and again. He did his best to steer clear of anyone else, but it was still a pain. He got home, and opened the door to the apartment.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru was sitting in the living room, working on some art when Davin got home. He greeted the other when he walked in, but his heart started pounding. Tohru almost hoped that Davin couldn't hear it.
