(I'm sorry, Bec, that sucks. I'm down to continue if you are!)
(I'm sorry, Bec, that sucks. I'm down to continue if you are!)
(Yeah, that'd be great! I'm doing pretty alright now, so don't worry)
Tohru let out a nearly silent relieved sigh as Davin laid next to him. It was nice for a change to go to sleep next to someone he trusted. The warmth, the comfort he felt, even if they weren't touching each other did truly help him sleep a little easier.
Before he realized, he was already drifting off.
(alright! Alright :)
Davin fell asleep pretty quickly as well, curled on his side with his tail tangled against his legs. He didn't want to accidentally wrap it around Tohru; that would be a little, well, embarrassing.
Tohru slept soundly that night. A lot more so than he usually did. Perhaps he was just tired. Perhaps he was just incredibly comfortable with Davin here. But when he finally did wake up, he laid in bed for a bit and grabbed for his device, scrolling through a little reading to wake himself up.
Davin was, for once, already awake and no longer in the bed. He was in the kitchen, haing started a pot of coffee. It wasn't quite ready yet, but that was okay.
Tohru, finally realizing the bed next to him was empty, got up and went to find Davin. He strolled towards the kitchen first, as he thought he caught a faint whiff of coffee.
Davin looked up as Tohru came in, giving him a soft smile. "Good morning." he greeted softly, waving a hand in greeting. His hair was falling around his shoulders in loose, messy curls, the black and white strands soft and lovely.
Tohru gave a faint nod and a smile.
"Good morning," he replied.
He tried not to stare for too long, but the other was gorgeous. The way his hair fell and the way a little sunshine streamed through the window to illuminate his curls stunned Tohru a bit.
"Coffee's brewing." He said with another quick smile. "Should be ready soon, I think."
"Thanks, Davin," Tohru replied softly, "How are you this morning? You're up earlier than me this time. But maybe that's because I actually slept well."
"I'm good. And yeah, I am." he laughed a little bit. "Glad you slept well, that's nice."
Tohru nodded.
"It's definitely been a lot easier not having to watch my own back so aggressively," he said.
He nodded. "Mhm. It's…nice to have a roommate." he said softly, looking over at Tohru with a little smile.
Got it!
(:D great!)
(Alright, where do you want to pick up?)
(just like. where we were? Unless you want a refresher of our plans? idk)
(Okay, I'm trying to remember where we were going honestly. It's been a while! But I'd be fine picking back up here)
(alright! eventual romance, basically. Tohru picked up bounty hunting again so he could buy Davin some traditional Kaythani jewelry (which is expensive AF bc it's now rare))
(OOOh yeah oops.)
Tohru let out a slight sigh. Open on his device was the bounties page again. He was literally putting this target on his own back by taking bounties again, and had the nerve to say Davin was making it better. What if someone wanted to kill Davin? There were a lot of people that wanted him dead or captured. But that meant even more that he deserved nice things- not to just subsist on mediocre at best wages. So Tohru had to fulfil that.
"So… back on the last planet we were on. Do you go out and party very much? I know that's where we met, so I was curious."
(it's fine! nbd, i don't mind reminding you :)
Davin cocked his head faintly. "Sometimes. Usually not until the end of my stay on a planet. It's…there's a lot of risk, because of these." he tapped his horns with one finger, shrugging a shoulder. "So I usually do it towards the end, so that if or when anyone sees the horns or the tail…I'll be gone before the authorities come find me."
"So you were about to leave anyway," Tohru said, pondering on the fact, "And I probably would have followed. Were you planning to come here, or somewhere else entirely?"
He switched over to a drawing application, but then found himself back on the bounty page again, looking for a lucrative but easy enough target. One in particular caught his eye, and he seemed to almost drift away from the conversation.
"I don't know, to be honest. I usually find a place I haven't been to yet and go." he replied, leaning his hip against the counter and studying Tohru.
"With your luck, you may have picked Drestia. Beautiful planet, awesome nightlife. But it's my shitty home planet and it's crawling with Imperial Loyalists," Tohru chuckled.
His gaze drifted away from Davin's face entirely, and he spaced out where the other man's body touched the edge of the counter. It wasn't obvious from the outside, but he was preoccupied with the bounty, trying to determine whether to accept or take an easier job.
He laughed a little bit, taking a sip of his coffee. "Yeah, I do try to avoid cities crawling with too many Imperials. It, ah, makes things difficult. It's why I try to stick to less regulated planets."
