Tohru flinched very slightly at the burning, but he couldn't bring himself to fully move. His breathing has become much more erratic and painful. He thought for sure this was it.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru, halfway awake, tried to remove the strap from his mouth, but his hands were shaking too badly, and he could barely lift his arm. He let out a muffled groan, not sure how to ask for help. Once again, he was fighting to keep his eyes open.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru tried to speak, but could only get out a weak, "How…?"
In his current state, Tohru could barely lift his own limbs. He wasn't even sure he should be awake- or alive, for that matter. His whole body was a bloody mess, his skin was almost the color of paper, and he was absolutely drenched in sweat. Not to mention the shaking. The cold. The absolute ordeal that even just breathing was. He didn't think he was going to make it home.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru gave a weak nod. "O…kay…"
He clenched his fist a bit, trying to gather enough strength to move somehow.
"C-can you?"
Tohru made a pitiful effort to start sitting up, but the blood rushed from his head, and he nearly passed out right away. He caught himself in time and laid back down.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah." he did his best to lift up Tohru, a faint grunt escaping his mouth as he heaved the other man up. He could lift him, but he wasn't sure how long he would be able to do so.

Tohru's fingers dug into Davin's shoulder as he whimpered in pain. The blood flowed away from his head again, and his vision started to go black around the edges. Again, his body went weak, and he was on the outer edges of consciousness.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He took a deep breath, grabbing the first aid kit and doing his best to make sure there wasn't blood left behind. It was, however, a hopeless task. There was simply too much of it. He just hoped that the police would not investigate too deeply into the matter. He moved to the front door, opening it and carrying Tohru from the place.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru fought so hard to stay awake, but the more he fought, the more exhausted he got. The blackness in his vision started to spread, until it ate away at everything. Tohru fell fully unconscious and probably wouldn't wake up this time. Not for a while.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin grimaced when Tohru passed out, but knew it would be okay for now. He could wake Tohru up later if he had to. He kept carrying the other man through the streets, grateful for the darkness to help hide the blood.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru thought that was it. He practically saw his shitty, short life flash before his eyes. He did nothing useful with it, and here he was, dying in Davin's arms. Causing this poor man more grief than he already carried. Not that he should grieve for someone like Tohru.
He would simultaneously be relieved and mortified upon waking up some time after they got home. How the hell could he have let this happen?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin carried Tohru all the way home, finally setting the other man down in their bed. That done, he stripped Tohru's bloodied shirt off, throwing it away, and then grabbed a sponge and a bowl of warm water, getting to work gently cleaning the blood off. Nothing about it was sexual in any way; he just wanted to clean Tohru off.

Tohru woke up very slowly. His vision was blurry, and even the little light hurt like all hell. He was just barely aware of Davin. The other man was dabbing his face with the wet cloth when his eyes first fluttered open.
"It's you."
He took a deep, pained breath and let it out. Still alive. Still painfully alive.
"Davin, I need you to-" Tohru let out a short hiss of pain. "Grab my device. Have to- contact them so they don't… treat it like a crime scene."
He pressed his head back into the pillow, gazing up into Davin's face. Tohru thought he'd remembered being kissed awake again some point, but that probably didn't happen. There was a lot going on, and he couldn't quite ascertain what had happened and what hadn't.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin gave him a quick, faint little smile. "Hi." he greeted, reaching over and checking Tohru's forehead. "Tohru, you've got to rest a bit longer. You just woke up."

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru bit his lip.
"It's important. If someone else finds the body-"
He groaned slightly, moving one hand down to the bullet wound. It kind of hurt to breathe, but it wasn't that he couldn't breathe.
"Maybe that hit more than I thought," he murmured as another surge of pain jolted up his arm.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru was about to fight back more, but he could barely move as it was. Reluctantly, he listened to Davin's request.
"I'm sorry. I don't even know how I can make up…" he murmured, closing his eyes and trailing off into something inaudible.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"It's alright. Just…" he trailed off, taking a deep breath. "You lied to me, Tohru. Again." the words were said softly, without strong anger, but it was heavy with disappointment.

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah…" Tohru replied, disappointment evident in his own voice as well.
He stayed quiet for a few moments, and when Davin didn't respond, he sought to fill the silence, but not with the truth. The truth was too humiliating.
"I guess you can't take the instinct out of a killer," he sighed, "I couldn't stay away from it…"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Tohru, I wouldn't have…I wouldn't have tried to stop you. I just want you to tell me the truth about where you're going. Please?" his voice was quiet, and he looked down at his hands rather than meet Tohru's.

@Becfromthedead group

"O-okay…" Tohru whispered, his voice shaky, "No more lying. It's a bad habit of mine- I know it is. I just… I dunno…"
He let out a soft, pained sigh.
"I'm a fucking awful person. I think you deserve to know that at least."

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru closed his eyes and rubbed his face. Who was he kidding? He was lying right now. He wasn't an instinctive killer (probably?) and he didn't have any real urge to bounty hunt outside of it being lucrative at times. The only thing he wasn't lying about was being awful. A compulsive liar. Hurting the one he absolutely adored because he was too emotionally stunted to just share his feelings like a normal person.
"If you want me to leave once I'm recovered. Once we're financially able…" he murmured, "I understand."
Tohru was a little out of breath, flustered. He was sweating heavily again, and felt lightheaded and warm.
