"Sure, whatever you want," Tohru replied, "It can even be frilly if you're into that."
He had relaxed a little. Humor always helped him a bit. At this point, even that odd tightness in his chest was starting to fade. Yet, Tohru felt heat flood his cheeks, which wasn't exactly the ideal either.
He was laughing as he looked over at Tohru. "Oh? And what if I was into you wearin' nothing underneath?" he teased, flashing a smile. "I'm kidding about that, by the way."
Tohru made a soft squeaking sound at first, and licked his lips nervously.
"Yeah, I'm not so sure about that. I'm too shy to even be naked on my own," he replied, trying to hide any further signs of discomfort.
Is he flirting? Am I flirting?
He smoothed back his hair.
He laughed a little, nodding. "Like I said, I'm kidding. I wouldn't…do that. Ask for that, I mean." he ran a hand through his hair, looking up at the ceilng for a moment, a smile twitching at his lips.
“Ahh, I know,” Tohru said, his voice quivering slightly, “The joke just caught me off-guard, I guess.”
He tilted his head and managed a smile. Although he was flustered, Davin was making him feel at ease.
He looked over at Tohru, suppressing a smile. "Yeah, sorry. I wasn't…thinking, I guess." he replied with a faint laugh, shaking his head.
“No, that’s okay. It was an… amusing thought, so…”
He laughed softly.
“I don’t mind you being playful at all. It’s comforting, y’know?”
He smiled a little. "Yeah, alright. I just…wanted to make sure that you weren't…I don't know. Upset."
“No, quite the opposite,” Tohru said.
By now, his posture was visibly more relaxed, and a smile, while merely edging his mouth, was apparent in his eyes.
He nodded, smiling over at Tohru. "Oh, good." he replied, shifting and stretching in his seat.
Tohru sifted through a few of his messages when he lifted his device back up. A new message popped up.
“Oh, looks like one of the bars got back to me. Must be desperate for a bartender. Not my ideal, but a job’s a job, right? They asked me to come for an interview.”
He nodded a little bit. "Alright, what time?" he asked, raising his eyebrows over at Tohru curiously.
“Tomorrow. They said to just come in at my leisure between 10 and 2,” Tohru said, “Id be working late shifts though.”
He nodded again. "That's up to you." eh said, looking at Tohru. "I'm not going to tell you what to do."
“Well yeah… It’s not the ideal, but again, a job’s a job,” Tohru said, “So if they don’t hate me, I’ll probably take the job.”
"Alright. And I…still have to find one." he let out a faint laugh, glancing down at his device and shaking his head slightly.
“Yeah, well, you submitted some resumes, so it’s really just a matter of time,” Tohru encouraged him.
"Hopefully." he replied with a shrug. "We'll see though, I suppose." he ran his fingers through his hair.
“Well, even if not, I’ll probably have some income,” Tohru reassured Davin, “It hasn’t been long yet. I’m surprised anyone even got back to me. Like I said, must be desperate.”
Davin nodded. "I know." he replied with a little smile. "Still. I need to get…a job." he shrugged his shoulders slightly.
“Give it a few more days, and if nothing happens, maybe try sending in a few more applications,” Tohru suggested.
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah, I'll do that." he replied with a faint smile, looking over at Tohru.
“Great,” Tohru said.
He glanced away for a second.
“Oh y-yeah… you said you wanted to look at some of my art, right?”
"Yeah, if you're willing to show me?" he replied, shifting a little to sit more upright.
Tohru went to grab his sketchbook and handed it over to Davin. The inside was mostly filled with practice of body forms, portraits, and people in general. The rest was animals he found on different planets, and also landscapes.
