Upon the sound of Davin’s voice, Tohru startled awake. He took a minute to go over everything that happened in his head and buried himself further into the blankets. It was a lot.
Upon the sound of Davin’s voice, Tohru startled awake. He took a minute to go over everything that happened in his head and buried himself further into the blankets. It was a lot.
Davin looked over, and sighed. He tied his hair back, heading to the cockpit to check how close they were to their destination.
When Tohru finally sat up, he tugged at the hair tie caught in his bun and slipped it over his wrist once it came loose. He moved back to the front, still holding his blanket.
“Sleep alright?” he murmured.
Davin nodded a little bit, not saying that it wasn't the sleep that bothered him usually, it was the waking up. It was waking up and realizing that whatever dreams he had had were fake, were just memories. Weren't real. That his family was dead and always would be. That he would never, ever find a mate.
“Well, at least one of us has to be well-rested,” Tohru sighed, plopping back down in his seat and strapping in. He gazed over to the map.
“We’re not so far though.”
He let out a faint laugh, nodding. "Yeah." he agreed. He ran his hands through his hair, sighing softly. "Once we get there…what do you want to do?" he asked.
“I don’t know. We need to look for a place to stay eventually, but until that’s figured out, we can sleep in my ship,” Tohru replied, “Did you have anything in mind?”
"Alright. And no, I've…never been here before." he replied, shaking his head. He looked at the map again, sighing softly.
“Me neither. We may have to wing it,” Tohru muttered, “That’s okay though, I guess.”
He pressed a button on the board.
Davin nodded a little bit. "We'll be fine, so long as nobody sees me." he flicked his tail slightly. "Or at least, as long as no one sees the horns and tail."
"Yeah, I'll help as well as I can to make sure you keep covered up," Tohru promised.
Their destination was growing closer, now within their field of vision.
"I'd strap in if you haven't already," he advised.
Davin nodded, sitting down and strapping in. "Thanks." he replied, running a hand over his horns and wishing he could be free to walk around like anyone else, without disguises keeping everything that could give him away hidden.
Tohru shifted the gear and speed of the ship to prepare for entering the planet’s atmosphere. Although exhausted, he was extremely focused on the task ahead of him.
Davin was quiet, watching as they entered the atmosphere, spiraling down towards land. He didn't know what to say, so he didn't say anything.
Tohru pulled down to the ground. The landing was mostly smooth. Once finished, he turned off the engine and got out of his seat, getting together his things in the back and putting his physical appearance together.
Davin put on the cloak, pulling the hood over his head and releasing a slow breath. "Damn it." he muttered, tucking the tail into the folds to keep it hidden.
“You alright?” Tohru asked.
He tied his hair back in a low bun, some strands still tangled together. Tohru turned to face Davin.
Davin nodded a little bit. "Yeah." He shrugged slightly. "Just… thinking." He ran his hands through his hair.
“Alright, if you say so,” Tohru replied.
He finished his preparations and turned to the other.
“Are you ready to head out?”
Davin nodded again. "Yeah. Should we find an apartment or something to share? This ship would be a little…small, as a living space." he shrugged slightly, running his hands through his hair.
“Yeah, sounds good. We can split the rent too. Ship is more… last resort, or temporary if we have trouble,” Tohru agreed.
He opened the door and waited for Davin to follow him out.
He nodded in agreement. "Alright." he'd have to find a job for money. He didn't have any accounts, because those were too easily tracked by…interested parties. Like the Empire.
Tohru closed the door behind them and secured the ship, and he walked out into the city. The weather was hazy, but through that he could still see the glow of neon lights pierce the skies.
"Let's take a look around so we know what we're getting into," he suggested.
Davin nodded. "Right. And we don't want anything too fancy, either. Just something serviceable. We're going to need to move on in a month or so. No reason to get attached to anything."
"Oh yeah, I didn't intend to. I've rarely stayed in one place for too long myself," Tohru admitted, "I just followed the work. And it's not like I made the proper wages to get anything beyond basic."
He seemed a bit distracted as he stared up at the skyline.
