@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Oof yeah
I have a friend who has something kinda like this, but I don't think he's using actual people's gods. It's one thing if it's like a Percy Jackson style demigod system (mainly because the gods are like apathetic about their kids at best) but when you have the uwu chosen one, child of God and Satan who's gonna save da world!!

Well I would say that it's probably a bit different than casual sloppy bastardization of primary figures of actual religions without even an once of care for original cannon.

Oh God, can we acknowledge the "Twilight but with angels!!!!!!!!" subgene from back in the late 200s/early 2010s?

@HighPockets group

Yeah, I want to see the creepy and powerful angels OF MUSIC!!!!!!! from the Bible, not "uwu blue haired blonde white dudes with flowy hair and abs"

So The Host?
I haven't read The Host so if it's different then good for Meyer, but I wasn't gonna pass up that joke-

The Host isnt actually that bad, but the writing itself is still meant for edgy younger teens. It does have a pretty decent plot, a few good moral dilemmas thrown in before it's ruined with a really dumb love triangle/square thing

Exactly. If you're doing angels, don't water them down into slop.

@Relsey-TheElder

I feel the same way about mermaids and Sirens, just make them the terrifying creatures that they are. I want to see ships dashed across rocks and sailors eaten. There is enough Mermaid and Siren Romance, now give me some grit.

ooh, the watersong series had some grit (at least the first one, haven't read the rest) and fluff too and it's not really my thing anymore but eighth grade me ate it up

Finger guts

@Katastrophic group

Merfolk that aren't pretty girls/guys with taped on fish tails and seashell bras, give me those cool fins and spines and not-so-human features. I read a thing about how mermaids could have hair in the form of a type of thin spine found on some fish, or how a creature living underwater would have other features like sensory fins or echolocation cause eyesight doesn't mix well with underwater. I can appreciate The Little Mermaid, but there's so much other awesome merfolk stuff out there!

@Relsey-TheElder

I read To Kill a Kingdom and It was still not Siren enough. Like at first they were great and then
