@murphysgirl

Oh joy I have a bloody nose
What were some of the old ones? I remember Diamond Castle, the fairy one, and the mermaid one, and then I think there was one with a Pegasus -
OH! Twelve Dancing Princesses was my FAVOURITE!!!

@Pickles group

12 Dancing Princesses is probably one of my favorites now. I didn't really like it as a kid though. I did, however, love Mariposa because I now realize I had a crush on the villain

@murphysgirl

I liked the Island Princess and Fashion Show ones

I FORGOT ABOUT THE ISLAND PRINCESS ONE!!! That one's great!!
Also, Barbie and the Three Musketeers. Looking back, it's not a "great" movie, but it's still one of my favourites bc of the nostalgia factor.
Also, I woke up this morning with one of my favourite love songs stuck in my head, and I would have called my fiancé and sung it to him, but he was (and probably is) still asleep. Not that I mind. Bean…

@Relsey-TheElder

Barbie movies are truly amazing. To the individual who said that Swan lake isn't good, you…. are allowed to have an opinion, I disagree, but you are allowed to have an opinion
Also no one has talked about Nutcracker yet and it's the movie that started all of them, also it's wholesome, content.

@Pickles group

What are you even talking about

The prince and the pauper is an interesting idea for cultural contrast. Make it about two rich folks and what’s the point.

My guy
They're kids movies about magic and conventionally attractive women in pretty dresses singing songs
And you want me to find a deep meaning?? Dude. Kids. Barbie. Movie. Pretty simple

@Relsey-TheElder

….. Excuse me, no they are not all lame.

Princess and the Pauper shows finding freedom in being yourself, Taking on responsibilities, not giving up when it seems difficult.

Princess and the Popstar showed that even the life of a celebrity isn't what it's all cracked up to be, every one has their struggles, there are challenges in every life style, it also has a moment where they both use their status to help people, Tori learned what being a leader meant, she was meant to use her station to help her subjects.

Barbie Pegasus told us to keep fighting even when things seem impossible, with a nice message about forgiveness thrown in. I think it's the best usage of "Rebellious teen" I've seen in media, it resolves with both learning to trust each other.

Barbie diamond Castle was about Forgiveness and the importance of working together (It was also kinda High key gay but half of the Barbie fandom get's really defensive when we talk about that)

Island Princess is about accepting people and cultures that are different from yours, and that letting people into your life isn't replacing any one who was already there, it's all about acceptance.

Three musketeers Is about fighting for what you want in life, and fighting for whats right even when it's hard. It's going against gender norms but not saying that their bad, Each of the girls is into a specific "Girly" Thing but they're also beating up bad guy's with style.

12 Dancing Princess's is about working together, leaning on each other for support, the smallest person can make a huge difference, And every one is unique and has something to offer.

So no, these stories are not lame they have really important morals in them, they're a teaching point for young girls. It's aimed at young girls so you have to suspend your disbelief and forgive a few plot holes and story beats.
