My continued ability to sleep through anything and everything fucking astounds me
I'm guessing there was a fire close to our house. All of our windows were open cuz y'know, chill nights in summer, and began to clog our house up with smoke. My father heard me coughing, assumed I was awake, and appeared in my room to tell me to close my windows. Thing is, I was actually still asleep. I do not remember coughing. I do not remember smelling smoke. I do remember hearing him, then falling back asleep before waking up just long enough to shut my windows. I don't remember getting back into bed, but I did and I remained passed out until my alarm went off the following morning. When I went to ask him if that was indeed him telling me to close my windows or a dream figment of him, my voice came out super low and gravelly thanks to my unconscious smoke inhalation.
My body didn't fucking wake me up even though I was probably in danger of suffocating in my sleep last night. What the fuck.
Edit: The reason I'm not freaking out about a fire being close to me is because I live in California and it's fire season. I swear I don't have a death wish.
If I wasn't, I probably wouldn't be here telling y'all lmao I'm fine I swear. I actually find the situation kinda funny tbh (plus I now have the perk of a deeper voice for the rest of the day, so that's fun)
