okay, so basically our core/original(who doesn't exist anymore) went through trauma, and that trauma forced a full personality to never form as a coping mechanism because a child's brain can't handle trauma like that. so, 16 of us are stuck in this body, and we all try to function. throughout the day, different alters(personalities) front, or take control of the body via switching(which is exactly what it sounds like). make sense?
