@Relsey-TheElder

we wouldn't happen to have any oboe players would we….because everything just sounds better on the oboe, like it could be done on a flute or a violin but it just wouldn't be the same.

@InstaOnly

Wow! I need to remember you when I need music for any of my projects in the future. The theme is amazing. :D

Feel free to ask, School is about to end so I'll be bored out of my mind.

@Relsey-TheElder

Thank you! and @Norepinephrinxx_has_no_wisdom_teeth it can be played on the Flute and Violin too and still sound right I just like it the best on the oboe.

@Relsey-TheElder

Alice's theme is like literally my new obsession. I wish I could compose like that, but alas. I suck at it.

It takes lots and lots of failed attempts, I'm talking writing the entire thing then deleting the entire really intricate base line because it doesn't fit in. So chances are you can compose you just haven't found the right thing to compose about.

@Relsey-TheElder

ACK I just don't have the patience. What part do you start with usually?

It depends, I try to start with a base sound in my head and then write the accompany and then write the melody from that. So I wrote the piano part of Alice's theme first then added in the oboe part with the melody. I don't start with the melody because then it's harder to write accompaniments.

@Relsey-TheElder

See, I'm the opposite. I write the melody and then fill in with the accompaniment.

It's different for everyone, when I try to do that I can't write an accompaniment that doesn't clash with the main melody.

I'm trying to write a song for my piano class and my piano teacher is really counting on me, but I literally have no idea what the heck I am doing and she keeps saying it's good, despite me literally just pressing a bunch of keys and being like, "welp, that's good." Lol. It's really funny to watch her try and coax more of the song out of me and get me to add more, but I got to a certain point and just gave up. heh heh. Sorry Julie, but I really couldn't care less about this dead awful song I wrote.
