Abby smiled, a bit awed by… well, everything Nyt was telling her. ”That’s amazing! I wish I could have seen it before… everything.” Her voice took a softer tone when she said ”everything” since a lot had happened between then and now.
"I wish you could of too!" Nyt said. Once they got in the house she flopped down on the couch with Abby.
Abby let out a bit of a squeak as Nyt dropped on to the couch, laughing a little. ”So, what do you normally do for fun? Besides collecting, I mean.”
"I'll be honest, not much. I watch some TV and cook a lot when I'm not working but other than that I don't do too much." Nyt explained, chuckling.
”Do you play any games?” Abby looked up at Nyt. She wondered who would be teaching who, depending on her answer.
"Like board games, card games or VR games?" Nyt asked, sitting up slightly.
Abby's brows shot up in some surprise, ”I honestly meant in general but yeah. I’ve never played a VR game before.” She admitted. ”Are those games you brought with you or did you find them?”
"We brought them with us. The ones we found here are out of date compared to ours." Nyt explained. "You should really try VR. It really takes you out of the present."
”So I’ve heard. Well, about the VR games humans made.” Abby smiled, sitting up a bit. ”Could you teach me some of your games?”
"Sure!" She said standing up and walking into another room, dragging Abby with her. Literally.
”Whoa!” Abby was unprepared for the enthusiasm and ended up stumbling to keep up.
Nyt pulled her into another room where two headsets and controllers sat. She put on set on Abby and began to adjust it to her head size.
Abby was breathing a little heavy as Nyt adjusted the headpiece. ”So, other than VR, what kind of game is this?” She had a wide grin as she was pretty excited.
"My favorite game on here is like chess but with battling and you are the king." Nyt explained. "I usually just do it with whoever is on currently but since you're here then I can do this with you."
”Ok, I have played chess before so I should still know the basic rules but I'm not very good at strategy.” She glanced at the controllers. ”How do I use those?”
The controllers looked more like gloves. "Give me your hands." She said picking them up.
Abby was very impressed as she let Nyt put on the glove-controllers on her. ”This is so cool! I bet these are way more accurate than what we've used for VR. A lot of people said our controllers were pretty laggy sometimes.”
"These are almost exactly in time with you," Nyt said as she adjusted the gloves onto her hands. Once she was done she put her own gear on.
Abby smiled as she flexed her fingers, looking her hands over. The gloves were surprisingly soft for their nature and the headset wasn't very heavy either.
No wonder she called our stuff outdated. Can't wait to see the graphics on this. She may not have had many chances to play games like this but Abby was still something of a gamer.
Nyt press a button on her finger and sent them booth spiraling into what looked like a black void. Around them were game options for them to choose. Nyt walked up to the one called battle chess and placed her hand on it.
”Holy! Whoa.” Abby laughed in amazement, turning in a circle. She knew there was really nothing to see yet but even being immersed in this blackness was astonishing.
Nyt chuckled as she presses it. They were then on big chessboard surrounded by woods. Nyt wore a suit of blue and Abby wore a suit of red. They both stood of them stood in the king spot of the board. "Ready to play?" She said with a smile.
Abby turned to face Nyt, ”I think so. Any other rules I need to know before we start? And how do I move the pieces?”
Oh, man. The depth perception on this is so accurate! I’m never going to look at it human-made video game the same way again.
"You point to where you want the peice to go," Nyt explained "And the rules are regular chess rules. Do you know all of those rules?" She asked.
”Yep.” Abby smiled. ”It’s been a while since I last played but I remember.”
As long as I don't have to say the piece and position, I should be fine.
