(Nah, it went somewhat okay I guess. I failed history class though which was not surprising to me in the slightest XD)
Hosea looked up at the roof to see the winged figure sitting up there. He then stepped out of the tree cover and walked over to the barn doors. "Would you come down from there, before you get struck by lightning," he called up to the figure as he walked into the barn.
"Huh?" Danny says, not yet noticing Asa up on the roof. He stopped to look back at Hosea and noticed that he was already looking up on the roof when he passed him. "Oh. It's Asa."
"I know, he's been up there since we got here. I watched him land up there," Hosea explained. He walked into the barn and looked around. "Well, there's some hay stacked up there, and some rope up in the rafters, we'll want to take turns watching throughout the night, but this is a pretty good place to stay for now."
("Help me! I can't get down! I needed those feathers to fly!")
(If that’s the case, Asa would be a dead man a longgggg time ago XD)
Asawin jumped down from the roof before turning to the two people.
“You guys can rest first, I’ve been resting for a while now… well, since I got here” he gestured inside the barn.
"Well for the moment we don't need a watch because we're not set up yet," Hosea explained looking around. "Besides, I have something I have to do before the night is out, which means I'll be leaving the two of you alone for a bit."
“Great news…” Asawin replied blankly.
“Oh yeah, along the way here I found those guys” he pointed to a pile of corpses beside a nearby tree.
Hosea looked at them for a moment then looked at Asawin. "Did you do that?" he asked not really sounding interested.
“The answer to that question should be obvious, should it not?” He asked raising a brow.
“Of course not, I just got here and found them already in corpses”
Hosea tipped his head and walked over to examine the scene. He kept a bit of a distance for a moment, then he began circling them. "Them the question is, who or what, did this?"
Guinevere, slightly taken aback by her client's entrance but not surprised overall, confirmed that she completed her job and produced the "evidence."
"Excellent! I knew I could trust someone as strong as you!" Arthur rejoiced. Turning to his manservant, an insidious gleam appeared in his eye. "Jameson? Please take care of Ms. Guinevere's reward, would you? Her eternal reward."
The huntress had but a split second to react as Jameson pulled out a long, curved dagger and tried to bury it into her stomach.
(That’s it, Asa’s duty from now on will be to hunt down whoever this Jameson is)
Asawin shrugged.
“If I’ve got to guess, it would most likely be a magic user like all of us here. And judging by the burnt marks on their shirts, it was probably a fire magic user or fire entity of some sort” he suggested, not sure about the context of his speech.
(PERFECT! PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT, THANK YOU!)
The knife didn't make it past Guinevere's shirt thanks to the chain mail she always wore underneath, but the intent was still there.
"I do apologize for my behavior," Jameson said, answering his first stab with a brutal hook to her jaw. "It's always like this. If I do not kill you, the Master will, and it's just so tedious."
Nursing her bruised face, Guinevere drew the Sieglinde Rose and leveled it to Jameson's neck. "I will kill both of you, then," she growled.
"Oh no you won't!" came Arthur's voice behind her as she felt a searing pain and the smell of burnt fabric.
Asawin looked around.
“Well if you two don’t mind, I’m gonna go explore around for a bit” he stated and without for an answer, took off into the skies again.
He looked down at the ground every now and then, looking for something to do. He then spotted quite a large building in the middle of what he would classify as nowhere and flew down towards it.
Through the window panes, he spotted someone.
That woman from earlier? he questioned himself as he landed and knocked on the door loudly.
All Guinevere saw in those next moments was fire. Lots of fire.
"Hit her again, Sir Gelder!" Jameson cried.
F-ching! FWOOOSH!
The windows shattered and the huntress was blasted out the front door and onto the cobblestone path. The only thing that managed to hurt her was the landing, but her clothes were badly singed, revealing the shining chainmail underneath. Both Arthur and Jameson poked their heads out of the front door.
"That was a bit much, don't you think?" Jameson asked, brushing some coals off of his epaulets.
"Well, it doesn't matter at this point!" Arthur cackled. "With those other magic-users gone, I run this town!"
He skipped off of the front porch, past Guinevere's collapsed body, and out the front gate. Jameson silently followed, filed with much less glee than his master. Arthur galavanted across the opulent cul-de-sac, using Jameson's strength to bust open the front gates of mansions while Arthur blasted fire from his hands.
A Bender? Guinevere thought, still playing dead on the ground. No… Something gleamed in Arthur's hands, and he was wearing a pair of white silk gloves that she hadn't seen him with before.
"This is what I think of your hideous topiaries, Sheryl!" Arthur shouted before blasting gouts of flame upon some well-manicured hedges in the front lawn next to his. It was that same noise though.
F-ching! FWOOOSH!
A lighter, perhaps? Guinevere thought before she picked herself up off of the ground.
(Ah… I see how it is)
Asawin saw the woman he remembered get thrown out a window and immediately hid behind a tree. He had not been expecting that. One thing’s for certain though, he can most likely grab one of the two people in front of the lady and deal with them on his own. He unsheathed his blade slowly, keeping an eye on the two figures.
Eventually, he climbed up the tree and spread his metallic wings. A silver colored armor and helm started forming and in due time, covering him. He then launched himself from the tree branch straight down towards the pyromaniac, aiming his sword at their chest.
"Hee hee!" Arthur turned haphazardly and engulfed Asawin in flame. "Hope you're toasty!"
Asawin smiled under his helm.
“Right back at you!” He used his unarmed hand and slide himself above Arthur and just enough time to head straight for Jameson’s body. He grabbed Jameson with both hands and held him close in his flame covered metallic cocoon. Right now, Asawin and Jameson looked like some sort of pheonix ritual with Asa’s wings covered in amber heat.
Danny scanned the area and perked up at the sight of what seemed to be nothing.
"Hosea! I see the spirit of one of the dead men! I can ask him to see who did it! Cover me real quick."
Danny sat down with his scythe across his lap and closed his eyes. "For the best communication, I should spiritualize, as I like to call it." Danny focused and forced his spirit out of his body temporarily.
"Hello." He called, approaching the spirit. The spirit turned quickly and answered back.
"Hello? Where did you come from?"
"Doesn't matter. I'm on a bit of a time crunch so can you tell me who killed you?"
"Oh, um. It was this big guy with fire powers. Well, he had some weird gloves on, but he was using magic. Quite strange, as I'm pretty sure he's the guy who was trying to get people to hunt magic-users." The man said, slightly taken aback.
"Ok thanks!" Danny said, running back to his physical body. He jumped in and he rocked back, spirit and body whole again. He stood up and waved his scythe to send the man on to heaven and turned to Hosea.
"He said it was a big guy who hunted magic-users with a magic fire glove thingy. Do you think it could be the man who hired Guinevere?"
Jameson managed to struggle free from Asawin's grasp despite his massive bulk. His strength was superhuman and he managed to grab his knife and slash his attacker's face. Falling to the ground, he got into a battle stance, flipping his knife in his left hand. Arthur was still relishing in his conflagration, now set on trying to melt the facade of his neighbor's house. Guinevere, still alive and having a score to settle, decided it was time to bring out the big guns literally and figuratively. Focusing her mind, she reached out her hand like her son taught her and grabbed the handle of a massive, double-barreled shotgun (see character page towards the beginning for more details!). Her son made far more ammunition than was necessary, and that was nice considering her adversaries. Loading two massive shells into the breach and locking it in place, the huntress marched off to meet Arthur.
Hosea looked at the people and shook his head. "They didn't deserve this," he mumbled, then he turned to Danny and walked over to him. "Come on kid, we have some people to go get and I have a bag I need to retrieve." He turned and began making his way back towards town.
"A bag? Since when did you have a bag?" He says, putting his Scythe in its spiritual state so it's protected and doing the same with his Cloak while he walks along with Hosea.
