Lyra pouted. "What's the point of living with all this glitz and glamor if you don't partake in any of it?" Her voice was teasing and sweet. She grabbed Nykidia's hand and dragged her over to a blackjack table. She was so good at blackjack. "Cheer me on?"
Nykidia's smile got wider. "I will!" Nykidia replied. Should I stack the deck? Nykidia thought. Hmmm not yet, Maybe after she loses a few times.
Lyra sauntered up to the table with her most sultry grin. It looked like a new game was just getting started. Perfect. She signaled that she wanted to be dealt in, added her money to the pot, and grinned when her cards immediately added up to 21.
This was going to be a winning night, she could feel it. She stood until most of the guys had to bust, swept up her winnings, and all but skipped over to Nykidia. "This is going to be a good night, don't you think?"
"I feel it too." Nykidia said smiling. "Nykidia!" someone yelled from the top of the stairs.
Lyra turned towards the person. Who was that?
"Nykidia!" said a young man from the top of the stairs. He was wearing a white fluffy coat, Grey fedora and had an black cane. "Flyn?" Nykidia yelled back. She grabbed Lyra's hand and started dragging her towards the stairs. "I want you to meet someone, Lyra." She said dragging her.
Lyra let herself get dragged along, counting her money. Over 5,000 dollars in winnings. How lucky could you get? She supposed she was about to find out. Maybe even get to brush the upper limits of that luck and come home rich as a queen.
Nykidia dragged her up to the man. "Flyn? I thought that your were suppose to be sealing a deal." Flyn did a playful shrug. "An accident happened." He said with a wink. "Flyn, This is Lyra, My date. Lyra, This is my Brother, Flyn." Nykidia said introducing the too strangers to each other. "Pleasure." Flyn replied. He didn't look much older than Nykidia. He looked about 15.
(Night.)
Lyra hed out a hand for him to shake, hoping this made a decent impression. She knew she looked way older than Nykidia, but hopefully, he'd brush that off. She looked like… 18? 19? And Nykidia looked like 14, so it was only a 4 or five year age gap. "It's nice to meet you!"
"It's nice to meet you as well." He said back. "So Nykidia decided to take a risk, hmm?" Flyn said eyeing her. Nykidia blushed. "Yeah, I guess I did." She said looking at Lyra and the Casino.
Lyra grinned playfully, giving Nykidia a light kiss on the cheek. She whispered "Hey, I'm going to gamble some more, I'll check in later." An ending poker game caught her eye ad she walked over, shoving her money int the pot and letting herself get dealt in. New shoes here she came.
"Oh OK, Ill be over in a bit." Nykidia said as she watched Lyra go. "Flyn! You just made my date run off." "Not my fault," Flyn said with a playful smile. "Besides, isn't she a bit old?" "I don't know. Maybe? I haven't asked how old she is." "And also isn't she the new bartender at Alina's?" "Yeah so?"
Lyra was too busy winning at poker to focus on conversations, though she did catch a couple phrases. Things like 'a bit old' which made her cringe and wonder if she should get a friend who knew magic to make her look younger and 'new bartender' which made her frown. She wasn't that new. She'd been a regular bartender for a few months now. Months. She wasn't a noob anymore.
"You know she could be doing this to get info right?" "I haven't excluded the possibility." "She's a siren?" Flyn asked "Yes and I swear if you say 'she could be charming you' I will…" "Relax I was just going to say she looks cute with you."
Ohhh. Lyra raised the pot and continued to eavesdrop. Luckily the distraction strengthened her poker face. A couple people folded, muttering curses under their breath. She supposed dating Nykidia for information would be a good idea and then decided she definitely wouldn't. Things would probably end up be flip-flopped- Nykidia trying to get her to spill sensitive information and Lyra having to refuse.
"This could be funny. I'm going to follow you around." Fyn said smirking. "No. No. Nonononono. No. I already have Night that I have to keep out of the way and I don't need to have to keep you out as well." "Come on 'Kida. I just want to make sure she's not going to break your heart." "Uuuugggg fine. But keep your distance. Now that your back I also have to protect you. I was barely lucky enough that you were supposed to be gone but Nooooooooo. Now I have to watch you." "I'm sure it'll be fine," "And what if another gang shows up?" "Don't worry 'Kidia. Go have fun with your date." He said almost pushing Nykidia down the stairs.
Lyra cackled internally when she got a royal flush. Had cheating at poker always been this fun? Maybe she should gamble more. Of course, she added in her head that could definitely get me fired. She couldn't lose the job. The job was important. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize it was time to reveal until the dealer coughed. She smacked down her cards, grinning cheerily when the dealer handed her the pot.
Nykidia ran up to Lyra. "Hey Lyra! Winning at all?" She said looking at the table.
Lyra brandished her fat stacks of money with a grin. "I'm doing pretty good. Guess I've hit a famous string of sirens luck. Where's your brother?" She twirled a braid around her finger, stroking her fingers over the good luck charm braided in. Gambling wouldn't even be necessary for the rest of the night.
"He's over there." She said pointing to the stairs. "He is sticking around so you may see him around the casino a bit more. Do you need me to get you anything?"
(Sorry if I have taken over your RP. It sort of turned into a one on one. I'm sorry)
(It's fine, it usually gets here. I'm thinking about turning this into a 1 on 1, if that's okay. Also: I'm heading to bed. Goodnight!)
(One on One sounds fine to me. Goodnight!)
Lyra shrugged. "Well, I've got everything I need for tonight. Do what you want to do. Whatever you want is fine with me." What would Nykidia want to do? There wasn't much to do beyond drink or gamble in a casino. Maybe mess around with slot machines. Nykidia didn't seem like the kind of person who dicked around on slot machines though.
(Sorry I was gone for so long. Was in school musical.)
"Hmm. Should I show her? No. Not yet. This is only our first date. Only if the situation arises or we've been dating long enough." Nykidia thought. "Not really. I just brought you here because you said you liked to gamble," She said shrugging.
