Elm chuckles and then replies "Yeah, it's a great roadtrip with a great destination, maybe afterwards, if he is dead we can go celebrate with a drink. Don't worry, I'll pay." He says to Aza
Selene waited until nightfall. She knew her parents were up to something bad. Once her mother checked into her room to make sure that Selene was 'asleep,' she paced to the kitchen quietly. Selene waited until her mother left to follow her. Selene watched around the corner as her parents conversed. They whispered, even though Selene was supposedly asleep. This meant it must be very sensitive, right?
"Yes, I know her rage is getting more furious, but they killed the Majesty, so he won't be a factor anymore." Marge said, hushed. "It was never about him, I think she knows of her power. Restraint is best. We won't tell her the King is dead and she won't have to think twice about leaving." Pinecrest replied quietly. "But, honey I don't thin-" Pinecrest interrupted her. "We never should have taken that monstrosity in to our household. She'll only disappoint like Elm."
Selene snapped. She walked right out into the kitchen, and the lights flickered. "So you were going to lie to me? Just because you don't want me to go crazy? You think that's not what I've been doing, Papa? First, you lie to me about being adopted and now you're going to lie to keep me from my freedom, aren't you?" Marge's face blanked in fear. "Darling daughter, it's for your safety!" Selene snarled. "NO, IT'S FOR YOUR SAFETY," Selene walked right up to her mother and looked her in the eye. "And don't call me your daughter. Since you both are so eager to push your only remaining son away, you must be glad to get rid of me." Selene said, glaring at Pinecrest.
Aza puts her arms around Elm's waist. "A date? Are you asking me out, Elm?"
Elm looked back at Aza "Maybe I am, Azzy. It depends on your answer."
"Maybe it's a yes," she replied shyly. "Now, let's go find a dead king."
Elm grinned "YEAAAAH" He was thinking on the inside. "I think we found him…" Elm said, pointing down at the charred ruins of the castle. "Adara was definitely here… Let's land." Elm said to Aza. "Terra, Avem." He says to the bird and the bird dives down to the ground, landing softly.
Aza climbs off Avem and shook her hair out. "If the king's not dead, can I kill him?"
"If the king's not dead, I'll help you kill him." Elm says. Approaching the castle, there's a few dead bodies scattered about, but they're all charred and burnt. Elm holds his nose. "Ugh this place stinks."
Selene turned to Pinecrest, full of hatred. "Out of all your years being a parent, you never got better at it, old man. It wasn't Elm's fault that Alder died, it's yours." Selena said, harshly. Marge began crying, and Pinecrest was shaking. "They both deserve to die" a demonic voice came from Selene's lips. Selene furrowed her brows. "You heard him, didn't you, Papa? Oh wait, you're not my father." Selene says contemptuously. Placing her hand against Pinecrest's chest, she looked him straight in the eye as his heart stopped beating. Marge screamed and slapped Selene, but Selene kept her focus on Pinecrest until he dropped dead. Marge backed away, fast.
"Please, woman, control yourself. You were a mediocre parent at best, but you really tried." Selene said, placing her hand on Marge's shoulder. Marge wimpered and shivered violently. "For that, Selene will let you live. Have a good night, Marge." Selene's figure was shrouded in darkness until she was no longer visible. Then she was gone. The lights flickered on, brighter. Marge barely noticed they'd dimmed. She certainly didn't notice them come on again, because she passed out, cold.
(If you walk in the halls you might see Aisen’s crystals in there with a soldier or two in it XD)
(oof ouch you guys really did a number on him lmao)
"It's really not that bad," Aza said and crossed her arms.
(also, what if Selene is the king's daughter??)
"Yeuuck, speak for yourself. I have a sensitive nose." Elm says. "I don't think he's here. If he's dead, they probably killed him twice. If he's not… he's probably gone."
(good idea @ember-chan-is_actually_chihiro_fujisaki)
(thanks!)
"Oh, wait!" Aza said excitedly. She held her hands above her head. Light radiated out from them, then it abruptly stopped. A thin wisp of light shot from her palm and wove around the palace. Jogging after it, the light turned a light red.
"Whoa!" Elm says and follows Aza
The light stopped at a charred body, with no recognizable features. "That's him," Aza said. "I was really hoping to kill him."
Elm sighed sadly. "Well, there's always going to be another evil dictator to kill, so we're in luck." He says.
"I guess," Aza shrugged. "So…What about that drink?"
"I think it's about time we had that drink. Lucky for us, I have the best ride." Elm says jokingly. He bows and says, "Milady?" Offering his arm to Aza.
Aza rolled her eyes but took his arm. "Who do we need to kill next?"
"Hm, we can discuss it over our drink." Elm says casually, walking with Aza back to Avem. "I have these neat dice things that can tell us a bit of our future. Kind of like fortune-telling except it's not a scam for money." Elm says.
"Well, that's good, as I currently am not in possession of money." Aza says.
"Yeah, we need to take some jobs don't we?" Elm says, hopping onto Avem
"We?" Aza said, surprised.
"Well, we're a team now, right? I mean, you can't just plot to murder someone with someone and then never do it, right?" Elm says, grinning. Avem takes off.
"Fair enough," Aza replied and pulled a feather off Avem. She wove it into her hair, then tossed her black locks over her shoulder.
