"I know…" Finchsong sat down for a moment, gasping for breath. She set Doekit between her front paws as she attempted to catch her breath. "I'm… I'm sorry… I'm just feeling a little… tired."
"I know…" Finchsong sat down for a moment, gasping for breath. She set Doekit between her front paws as she attempted to catch her breath. "I'm… I'm sorry… I'm just feeling a little… tired."
"Hey, you should be! You've don't a lot!" Oakleaf said, sitting down besides her.
She nodded, wrapping her tail around Doekit to keep her warm. "What do we do if… if they remember you? What if they start asking for their father? For Oakleaf?"
"Any kit will start doing that. Remember the fake story, a loner or rogue gave them to use, so yes, they will only remember us being there for them. The clans will understand."
"Alright… I'm just nervous, I suppose. I don't want to be kicked out of the clan." Finchsong sighed, shuffling her paws anxiously.
"Ashpaw isn't a fully trained medicine cat yet, they would never!!"
"I mean, I dunno… he's quite good. And they could always request help from another clan if need be." Finchsong stood up with a slight wince, picking up Doekit again.
"But what do you think they'll do to me? Larkwhisker is old, should be passing away soon, what will happen it they banish me? My clan is more at risk then yours."
Finchsong shrugged, beginning to walk again. "I don't know, Oakleaf. I just worry sometimes. Now we must be going. There is no time for much resting…"
"Not much time for anything now-a-days…" He muttered as he picked up Stagkit and began walking.
"Well, of course not! We're already late arriving home, and now we've got two extra cats with us. I just hope that Goldenstream will take good care of our kits."
"Arriving home late?" He muttered, "What say that? This is a hard and unexpected journey! We don't have a 'date' or 'time' to arrive home, we can arrive when we want!"
"I suppose that's true… it's just been awhile, and I don't want them to worry." Finchsong climbed carefully over another fallen tree, digging her claws into its bark so she wouldn't fall.
Splashing though a puddle, Oakleaf lifted Stagkit so his little tail would not touch the water. Jumping onto the log with Finchsong, he followed close behind her as they made their way out of the marsh lands and to a small swift flowing stream.
Finchsong slipped into the stream without hesitation, easily making it to the other side while getting Doekit the least wet possible. She shook out her fur after reaching the opposite bank, waiting for Oakleaf to follow suit.
He shuffled back a bit, hesitant to follower straight in. Glancing at her and seeing 'The Look' in her eyes, he jumped in without hesitating and wobbled to the other side.
After Oakleaf got across, Finchsong kept walking. She could tell that they were getting fairly close. She recognized this area. "This way." She turned to the left and picked up her pace a bit.
(I gtg to bed now. Byeee)
With her ahead and the nasty valley behind them, Oakleaf stayed closed behind Finchsong as she led the way down the unfamiliar path.
(K, goodnight!)
"We're in the corner of Shadowclan's territory right now. If we walk along this line of trees for about half a day, we'll make it to Riverclan."
Oakleafs ears went back as she said that. "Is Shadowclan territory that big!? I thought you could walk the whole territory in one day!"
"Well, there is a neutral territory in the middle. The lake isn't particularly small, Oakleaf." Finchsong continued walking along the trees, going at a comfortable trot.
Oakleaf tried to put Stagkit on Finchsongs back but the little brown kit tumbled straight off because he would not stop squirming. Picking him up quickly, Oakleaf forced himself to act natural even though he did something very stupid.
"What are you doing?" Finchsong glanced back at Oakleaf.
"Nooothing.." He murmured, lifting Stagkit up too block his view of Finchsong.
"You're not looking at me and you just tried to put our son on my back. It's clearly something."
