Finchsong leapt over a log, her breathing becoming more and more raspy. She was fast, yes, but she couldn't keep up such a pace for a long period of time. The exertion was beginning to take a toll on her.

Everything around then was dead silent, its was like the dead of leaf-bare had taken over the whole forest. Casting a long glance behind him, Blazestorm stayed ahead of Finchsong, guiding her with his tail as they traveled over the undergrowth.

Brambles tugged at Finchsong’s long fur as they went through the bushes, but she just pulled through them in determined silence, praying to Starclan that they would survive this encounter.

"Maybe we'll meet some nice apprentices." Blazestorm purred as he looked up at the trees, "And if not that, Sageberry or Dovecry, their nice cats, and they know me!"

"R-Really? How do you know them?" Finchsong asked while finally managing to free herself from the brambles.

"I met them while they were on patrol, they would have attacked me but Darklightning and Vixenclaw were with them, so it was all fine." Sighing, he glanced back up at the path they were traveling on.

"….But they wanted to attack you? That can't be a very good relationship."

"Every cat will attack a stranger on their territory, we're on good terms now, we're friends, they sometimes go out of their territory to meet us."
