"What kind of ancestry?" Thorne inquired, twirling a lock of hair around their finger. "Must be an interesting one, to give you magic like that." They raised an eyebrow.
She sighed and sipped her tea, curling up under her skirts. "Oh no, I spend very little time here actually." She watched as a spider came down onto her hand, and she lifted hers up. "Why, even the animals wish to admire my beauty." She stands up on the bench and carefully helps it back to it's web. "There. All safe and sound now." She turns back to the crowd and sits down. "As I was saying. I spend most of my time out there in the oh so dangerous woods." She said with a tone of sarcasm. "I don't know about all that, just have to learn how to communicate with nature and it will listen. Yes I've had my run ins with wolves and bears and the likes, but here I am now standing before you without a scratch or bite."
"That sounds like fun," Danny says genuinely with his mischevious grin then turns to Thorne to answer their question.
"Well, have you ever heard of mythical creatures? If you have, you might have heard of Death, the Grim Reaper. Long ago, when humans started trying to kill the myths, some decided to save their bloodline by breeding with the humans. Death was one of them, even though he was basically a god. He found his lover and started a line of Death Bloods. I am the current Death." He explains.
(I am going to go for a walk and then today I am going to be off for about oh 7 hours, so how about we put the rp on pause till tomorrow? I won't be on much then either since it's chore day…it's saturday where I am. 12:56 pm, but I won't be gone till about 2:00. Just a PSA.)
(Ok, I've got things to do too anyways.)
"Aha!" Crystal said, interjecting. "I knew there was something off. Life was another one of the breeders. And us Rosethorns are direct descendants. My mothers grandmother is the current life so, there is some catching up to do." She suddenly blushed at her outrage and hid behind her hair.
(I am going to go now)
(I'm helping my dad with a project so I won't be on either. This going to be my last post till tomorrow.)
"Ahh! That what felt familiar. It has been a while since I've seen a Grim." Raz commented. "I don't see them around often. Expecially around the part of town, I live. Nice to meet you."
(Gooood morning!)
(Hello!)
Crystal gave Raz a sort of confused look but shrugged and played with the hem of her dress, admiring it's beauty, feeling awkward as she looked over the golden roses printed onto the forest green skirt, which was interrupted at the waist my a belt of emeralds. Her top was plain, besides the sleeves which had little diamonds stuck onto them. She still was not wearing any shoes, and her toes were painted green.
(PSA: I have two other rando group rps like this! One I just uploaded called WHY IS EVERYTHING ON FIRE?!?!?! And the other is You Walk Into A Forest… So feel free to hop onto those as well!)
Obhil arrived, maybe a bit late, to the ball. But Obhil didn’t really mind that fact. Their current focus was to seek out any interesting discussions going on. Maybe learn something. Make friends. Though friends, to an Eldritch, generally had a different meaning.
The Eldritch arrived inside, moving with ease throughout the crowd. They were in a shadow like form, of course; moving flat or nearly flat on the ground. They had chosen a somewhat smaller form as well.
Moving towards the doors, Obhil’s shadow opened the door to the courtyard, just enough to allow themselves to slip through. Soon after arrival, their form shifts, and they are no longer a shadow on the floor. Obhil could be best described as a being that reflected almost all light, besides the white eyes that were upon their face, and an occasional show of the teeth.
And even then, just for the occasion, Obhil decided to show up clad in a blue bow tie. A dark blue one, if you’re asking for the specifics. Obhil may have frightened a few young couples who they accidentally shifted too close too, but Obhil couldn’t be bothered. Instead, they approached the group, and leaning down, they announce their presence.
“Helllooooo,” they draw out. “I do hope I wasn’t interrupting anything.” Obhil’s lean was kind of like a bow.
Crystal looked up at the strange light figure, and shook her head as he peeked into the gazebo. "I'm not really sure if you're interrupting anything or not dear, come sit and be silent…I'll have The Vines get you some champagne and tea cakes." They 4 flutes of champagne came along with the food, and Crystal decided she had enough to drink and handed it over to Obhil. "Never mind, here dear. Enjoy yourself."
Thorne accepted the champagne and drained the entire glass in one gulp. "Oh, hey." They smiled at Obihl. "Nice bow tie."
Crystal was leaning just a little more on Thorne, them already having charmed their way into Crystal's mind at least. Still, the turns could table. (I also looked over Thorne's character sheet as well. I like em)
(Oh, thanks!)
Thorne set their glass down and looked at Crystal. "So, these vines… what exactly are they? How do they work?" They'd seen something similar once before, but they only knew of one person who'd been able to do it.
((Just to clarify, Obhil reflects light, so they don’t give off any light whatsoever. They wouldnt be a figure of light.))
Obhil entered the gazebo, ducking down slightly. They sat down; or did some form of it. It was rather hard to do so when you had no legs. Visible ones, at least. They also had no arms..so accepting anything was tricky..though that was not the case as Obhil revealed an arm that was hidden against their shadowy body. They moved to take a drink, but at first their hand just grazed through the drink.
“Whoops,” they whispered before going in again, this time grabbing it and sipping it. Upon hearing Thorne, they turned with a small grin, flashing their sharp teeth in a friendly way. “Why thank you.”
"Oh ah well…that's a tricky explanation. They are bound to me, sort of like personal servants in a way. They are made to simply serve and help, though on big tasks they help with I make sure to treat them well. My grandmother taught me how." She nods, and pets the little vine. "Isn't that right ViVi? Such a sweet thing. Go and rest for the night, Thomas's shift starts soon." The one with the purple bow tie darts off. "I switch out the vines as to not stretch out their magical energy to much. They must rest." Suddenly there was a rustling and a flash of orange. "Hm?" She got up and headed outside. "FARRA! KIA KIA!" And then a fox tackled her and she hugged it, not caring one bit about her dress.
"Huh. I've never heard of that," Thorne said. They watched as Crystal walked outside, then got up and walked to the edge of the gazebo. They gazed at Crystal and the fox, their eyes curious. "Who's that?"
"Farra! What a little dixie devil, yes indeed! Farra. SIT!" The fox sits down and looks up at us with wide curious eyes, tilting her head. "She's my Secret." She turns around and winks, and slips back in, the fox following and sitting below her feet. "Hm. I don't think we can fit much more in here."
"Your 'Secret'. Forgive me for asking so many questions, but what's that?" Thorne asked, turning towards Crystal and leaning against the wall. They felt quite out of their depth- all the magic they knew didn't seem to be here at all.
"I'm not allowed too have any pets, especially not a fox. So she's my Secret." She nods with a wink.
"…Right." Thorne looked up at the roof, the beads braided into their hair clinking slightly. "This place is quite different from my village. So much complicated magic… I can't even begin to understand it all." They looked back at the princess. "Sorry for the…" They trailed off, waving their hand vaguely. "Nevermind."
