"A village in the middle of the woods. It's not really named on maps, but we call it Zini." They smiled, thinking of their home. "I run the bakery there with my best friends… at least, I did." Their face fell. "Now it's just me and Emris."
"Oh my…Zini…Oh! My brother goes there, since they always have the best cookies and such unique ware. I've never gone, but I've heard of it."
"Yes… Emris likes to brag that our baked goods are the best in the woods." They smiled. "I'll have to take you there sometime. Introduce you to Emris."
"Oh that'd be wonderful." She downs the rest of the wine, and poured another glass. She was beginning to feel a bit tipsy by this point.
"Oh, me too?" They asked, holding out their empty glass. "I'm going to have to bake you some cinnamon rolls at some point. They're my specialty." They grinned.
She smiled and filled it up. "You make it sound like we'll be spending a lot of time together. Depends on if my lover allows it or not." (Cause Crystal ain't proposing)

"Hopefully we'll spend a lifetime," Thorne said, taking a lazy sip of wine. "Because, personally, I'm totally fine with it." They gave Crystal a small, mischievous smile.
She blushes suddenly and turns away to look out the window at the cloudy night sky. The rain had put everything into a dewy state, thus making everything glitz and gleam like diamonds.
"Everything okay, Crystal?" Thorne asked, following her gaze out the window. "Ooh, that's pretty." They stare at the scene, as if trying to commit it to memory.
"Yes I'm quite alright dear." (Crystal is the mom/grandma friend and no one can convince me otherwise) She nodded as the fireflies buzzed,crickets chirped, and a fog settled in. "I love foggy days like this. It's sort of like the whole world is dressed in mystery and steeped in adventure, tied with the pretty bow of perfect weather and getting out to enjoy it." She says with a nod.
"Yeah… Fog makes everything seem so much more… Mysterious. Filled with wonder and secrets." Thorne agreed, gazing at the scene.
She nodded. "Who knows if those are really fireflies, or glowing eyes of monsters staring at us." She yawned.
"Indeed." Thorne looked over at Crystal. "Oh, dear. You're tired, aren't you?" They drained their glass and set it down. "Do you want to get to bed?"
"I am a little tired but it's alright. I'm used to being tired. I am a nightowl after all…and an earlybird. Making me special." She winks and laughs a bit at her own joke. (Cause ya know Early Bird Special for like restaurants and stuff)
"Ha!" Thorne laughed. "Well, if you're okay, then I suppose we could stay here a bit longer." They smiled.
She nodded and ate some more cheese and crackers, then went out the back door and stood there, taking it in, and yawned stretching as the cold prickled her skin. "Such a pretty night."
"Yeah." Thorne got up and walked up next to her. "So, Crystal…" They took a deep breath, then pulled a pale gold ring out of thin air. "I know I want to spend a lifetime with you… would you want to spend a lifetime with me?" They held out the ring with a hopeful smile, a green-blue stone sparkling in the low light.
She looked at you wide eyed and took the ring. "So soon? Ah but I feel like you barely know me." She said, holding it up to the moon light, watching it glitter.
"Well, your mother seemed pretty… anxious for you to meet someone. I'm enjoying myself quite a lot with you, so." Thorne shrugged. "If you think I barely know you, tell me about yourself. All the things you think I should know." They suggested.
She slipped on the ring. "Ah. I like to do things by example, not just by talking." She says with a nod.
"Okay, then," Thorne raised their eyebrow. "Anything you want to show me about yourself, then?" They glanced at the ring on Crystal's finger. "And does that mean you've accepted?"
"Not tonight dear, and yes I do accept. But do know you are in for quite the adventure!" She said with a nod. "Shall we head to bed? Tomorrow will be quite the excitement. I think since our engagement is fresh and new we will stay in…separate beds for the night ya know?"
