"An outdoor wedding… yes, that would be beautiful." Throne nodded. "Do you get to go outside often, Crystal? I would hope so, since it is obviously such a joy for you."
"An outdoor wedding… yes, that would be beautiful." Throne nodded. "Do you get to go outside often, Crystal? I would hope so, since it is obviously such a joy for you."
"As much as I can. I'm close friends with our gardener Charlie. He's a sweet old man, and we both sing duets together as we work. And we grow must of our own food as well." She says with a nod.
"That's good," Thorne said, absentmindedly waving their hand over a patch of bare soil. A beautiful bush with red leaves and pale blue flowers shot up from the soil. Thorne smiled and looked at Crystal. "This is one of my favorite plants from home. Isn't it beautiful?"
She instantly walked over and observed it, feeling the leaves. "The soil hurts it though. It isn't used to such hard dirt…it hasn't rained in a few days." And as if on cue, there was a huge cracathoom of thunder and it began to pour. Most people rushed inside to the ballroom to continue their dancing and love making, but Crystal broke out into a huge smile, and spun around a few times, arms upstretched to the heavens as her make up ran down her face.
"Did you do that, Crystal?" Thorne asked in wonder, not minding the pouring rain. Rain ran down their pale face, soaking their clothes completely.
"No, no. My powers are only connected to nature. Probably the Weather Gods or something. Possibly coincidence." She shrugs as she spun around a little more. "Oh well, alls well that ends well! I shall just marry each rain drop and have a thousand husbands who don't boss me around! And a thousand wives to laugh with!" She beamed, and this time it was her true smile. It was not a polite nor snarky one, truly blissfully in this messy weather, with mud and grass between her toes, absolutely ruining her dress.
"I see." Thorne smiled softly, watching her smile. They were happy that she was happy.
She sighed as the moment ended and she plopped down in the grass. And then, flowers began to bloom in her hair, of many colors and many types, bathing in the moonlight as she stretched her feet out with a grin. "I am a wild child, a part of this earth." (I see the competition has died…hm.)
"I can see that." Thorne agreed. "You know, you would really love my home." They smile softly. "In the middle of the woods, set apart from the rest of the world."
(It has…)
"Well then, I'll HAVE to visit it sometime. I know the whole forest like the back of my hand, mark my words." She nods with a grin.
"It's a beautiful place. If we have to part ways… well, I'll be happy to see you there." They add, a sad look in their eyes, even as they smile.
"Oh well, we always have far away travelers stay the night. What's one more hm?" She said with a laugh. She was beautiful even raw and dirty like this.
"Oh, thank you, Crystal." Thorne smiled, brushing back their damp hair. "Would you happen to have some… uh… extra clothes as well. I'm afraid mine are, well," they look down at their clothes with a sigh, "slightly damp." They laugh.
"That's an understatement. I bet we can scrounge something up, no worries!" She looked around. "Say, where did Raz and them go hm? I wanted to solve that mystery."
"What mystery?" Thorne asked, frowning. "And I don't know where everyone went." They looked around, wringing out their hair.
"Raz. I have no clue who they are. Everyone else except the newest character I can read pretty well, but Raz is so…alluring. A mystery. Someone I can't tell right off the bat."
"So you can read me?" Thorne asked, raising their eyebrows. "Try. I want to see how good you are."
She sat there with her eyes closed. " Chaos. Chaos comes through, and a lot of deep rooted anger. Your hoping to win my heart tonight. You have no age, and your past is way to mangled for me to bother to decipher it…old as the gods one would say, but young as a heart…oh something else. It's there, so close. Just beneath the surface…take a left at memory lane…ah." She opens her eyes. "Kind as a lamb, angry as a bull, and twice as stubborn." She nods, and gets up to head inside.
"Interesting. That was quite close." Thorne said lightly. "It's interesting that chaos comes first, since…" They trailed off. "Well, what do you think of me, princess? Am I still in the running?"
She lifted an eyebrow. "You and Raz are both at first place, but your just a little closer to the heart dear." She nods and suddenly her mother yells. "CRYSTAL LOVE ROSETHORN! GET INSIDE THIS INSTANT!" Crystal huffs as her mother stood there glaring in the doorway. Crystal got up and headed into the castle as her mother lectured her. "…and you didn't even BOTHER to find yourself a SUITOR!"
"So… is this goodbye?" Thorne called after Crystal. "I really hope not, since you promised me a room in the palace!" They smirked at their last comment.
Scarlet looked at you and then Crystal. "…Oh? So then have you found a suitor?" Her mother said, and clapped her hands together. "WELL THEN! I shall have the lovers suite prepared!" "MOM! WAIT! NO! They are from far away from here, so I've offered them a room to stay in for the night so they can wash their clothes and be ready for tomorrow!" Her mother took a breath. "Crystal. You have a week until the ceremony. If you don't find someone to marry soon then there will be SERIOUS consequences!"
"Right. All that she said is true." Thorne said, holding up their hands. "Uh… so… should I go? You two look like you need a little time alone?"
Crystal shook her head, took Thorne's hand, and marched off to the guest rooms. "My mother is tired of being on the throne, I would just ignore her."
"Okay." Thorne nodded. "Is she normally like that? All… screamy and such?" They look back at the queen. "I really hope not."
