She laughed. "Yeah, they kinda are. Sometimes we forget to turn off the communication function, so we can all hear out dumb conversations with ourselves." She tapped her chin. "I also managed to get one of my friends to tinker with them so I can listen to music whenever I want to."
"Be patient." The cat said suddenly behind Anna
Tessa blinked at the robot cat. "Well then. I'm not exactly known for my patience."
Tristan jumped, "What the–"
"That cat," Danny said delightedly.
Tess scrunched up her nose. "I don't like that cat already."
Tristan backed away, unsure of the cat
"The time for your trial will start soon enough," The cat wove itself inbetween Lacie's legs
Tess seemed to perk up at the prospect of a trial. "What kind of trial? Does it involve explosions and butt kicking?"
The cat gave a devious grin
Tess looked like a kid promised a trip to the candy store. "Yes! This place is already better than the other labs I've been locked in." She paused, tilting her head. "Then again, I was strapped to a table and carved open in most others, so I guess the bar isn't too high."
Tristan frowned, "No I want to leave, please sir."
"So that's what the scar is from," Danny muttered, then remembered Tessa could probably hear him and looked guilty.
Tess did indeed hear him, but waved him off, already in a better mood than before. "Yeah, it is. An incision reopened multiple times." She smiled kindly to make him feel better. "You're alright, I'm just moody at the moment."
The cat shook his head. "I can't get you out I apologize young human boy."
"What, what the heck?" Tristan asked, confused and disguusted.
Tess angled her head at the cat. "Where are we? Or can we not have the privilege to know that?"
"Yeah please tell us if you don't mind, sir." Tristan crouched in front of the cat, smiling.
"Very Well," the cat said strutting to the middle of the group
Tristan stood next to Anna and faced the cat
Tessa waited patiently from where she sat against the wall
"You are in an old facility used for vaccines and other medicines. It was burnt down a couple of years ago. Until some twisted came here and made it a…testing site." The cat flicked his tail
Danny walked over to the wall and sat down next to Tessa's feet. She reminded him of his sister, which was comforting in this unfamiliar setting.
