He winced. "Sorry. Forgot about the hearing thing. And I'm only in sixth grade so I doubt I'll be much help with math."
He winced. "Sorry. Forgot about the hearing thing. And I'm only in sixth grade so I doubt I'll be much help with math."
She patted his head. "It's okay. Anywho, I'm basically one giant misfit. Foster care since birth until I was sixteen, twenty homes in total, and many years running through the streets of New York. I successfully broke into and out of highly secure government facilities, broke out of labs just like this one, and worked with the New York mafia when I was twelve until I turned sixteen. That's what garnished most of the news regarding me."
She brushed a hand over her scarred stomach. "But what the public didn't know was that I was a shapeshifter, abilities centered around the sun. I get my energy and power from the sun, and most of my foster families and the asylums I was put into deprived me of it to keep me… subdued. Locking me in basements or closets." She frowned.
"Around the sun? So, like, you draw power from it?" He was careful to whisper.
"Ohhhh you're the golden huntress! That's awesome!……… Who's the golden huntress?"
"Basically, yeah. The higher it is, the more powerful I become. It's also my source of energy. Think of plants. They get their energy from food and the sun, and so do I."
She flicked her fingers, and a small flame the shape of a puppy took form. "I'm a fire user because of it."
(ignore that message I missed a bunch)
Anna stood up. "That's awesome! You can melt a way out!"
(Lol)
(I was gonna say… But you're all good!)
"Don't you think they knew about her..powers…before kidnapping her?" Lacie asked.
Tessa wagged a finger in the air, getting rid of the fire puppy. "Rules, remember? Plus, we're underground and I only have a limited supply of mana. I need some sunlight to recharge."
"They most likely did. Why do you think I was in a sealed tank with absolutely no oxygen mask? Filled to the brim with water and hidden in shadow?"
"So, you'll be fine unless you use your sunlight. So we don't have to worry about you withering or anything, right?" (Sorry I have to leave again I'll be back much later)
"Do you have to eat regular food? Or do you get all your energy from the sun?" Danny was fascinated. "My sister uses fire too. She accidentally burned a girl at a bonfire. She refused to use anything with heat for a week. It was really funny." He frowned. "I'm supposed to be able to use the earth, but my powers aren't very strong yet." As if to demonstrate, he held up a finger and glared at it. It started to sprout grass but a few seconds later went back to normal.
"Hey, does anyone have a paper cut or something?" He asked, struck with a thought. "Something really small. I want to try something."
She laughed at Anna and Danny's questions. "No, I won't wither away. Yes, I still have to eat regular food, but not a frequently as you do. Sleep is a whole different matter. I don't really need to sleep, but if I don't have any energy left, I'll basically fall into a coma until I get some sunlight."
Tess blinked at Danny. "A paper cut?"
"Yeah. I hear sometimes healing is connected with earth magic. I thought maybe I'd be able to heal something small."
Tess thought. "Well, I can't exactly do anything to myself since my blood is filled with healing magic."
"Pre-existing. I don't know if giving ourselves one would break the no hurting each other rule and I don't want to find out." (I also have to go for a while)
Tristan looked confused.
(It's okay. We'll pick it back up when you guys get back.)
"Hmm." Tessa bunched her brows together while she thought about the rules, then snapped her fingers. "Cin, you brilliant beast, you just gave me an idea."
Danny scrunched his face up. "Who's Cin? Did I miss something?"
Lacie shrugged
Tristan gave an odd look, wondering about their powers, Hmm He thought.
