"You passed out last time we raced," he teased, still holding her hand.
"You passed out last time we raced," he teased, still holding her hand.
"Ah, but I was a big ass dragon going as fast as my poor wings could take me. I have an advantage on the ground."
He shrugged. "Fair enough, fair enough." They reached the door, and Runner held it open for her.
"There's the gentleman," she teased, heading inside.
"Mhm," he said, hurrying back to her side and grabbing her hand again
She led them to the map. "Kay, so, look for clothing stores. Mmmm, queso."
He tilted his head. "Huh?"
"'Huh' to the map, or 'huh' to the queso?" She continued to inspect the map, looking for the spots labeled as clothing stores.
"Queso. Why did you randomly say that?"
"Because I said 'Kay, so.' It sounds like queso."
"Are you ever not hungry?" Runner asked, even though he knew the answer.
She turned to him. "Okay, so think of me as a plant. What do they need in order to survive?" Hopefully he'll finally grasp the concept of my energy supply.
"Sunlight," he said. Alright, maybe I don't know.
"And?"
"Water." He began to feel a little dumb.
"And nutrients from the ground. Food. That's essentially all I need to survive. So yes, I am always hungry."
A girl standing a few feet behind Runner fidgeted, wondering if she could interrupt or not. Her small and heavily deformed white feathered wings twitched and rustled slightly.
"Ohhhhh," he said, face palming. "That makes sense."
The girl decided to interrupt. She lightly tapped Runner's shoulder.
(She has really fair skin with a rosy tint to it; hair is a peachy color; eyes are yellow. Just thought you should know)
He turned around, expecting to be Lia. "What?" He asked, somewhat rudely. Then, after looking at the girl for a moment, he realized his mistake and rubbed his face sheepishly.
"Oh….my bad."
She smiled and held up an 'Okay' gesture.
Tessa leaned back and grinned. "Andy! Zeus is looking for you."
Andromeda's smile turned sheepish. She pointed to herself then tapped her head twice with two fingers.
Runner tilted his head, not understanding the hand motions.
Tessa translated for him. "She says she knows. You little sneak!" She held up her hand and the two high fived. "Where's Ren?"
Andromeda shrugged and spiraled her finger in the air.
"You lost him? How?"
Andromeda shrugged again.
"Who's Ren?" He asked.
From the entrance to the store on the left of them, Lia watched with contempt on her eyes.
Andromeda proceeded to signal with rapid-fire hand motions, explaining what Ren was to her. Even Tessa looked confused. She clamped her hands over Andy's and said. "Neither of us know what you're saying." Andy looked sheepish again and gestured for Tessa to explain. She turned to Runner. "He's basically her childhood friend and possibly sweetheart–" Andromeda gaped at Tessa, blushing furiously. "–and also her translator. I know some sign language, but Andy has to make up most of the motions for me to understand what's she's trying to say."
"Ah. Is that why you came here?"
Lia began to creep closer to hear what was going on.
