Grace was born as the youngest child of the Kelsall family alongside Benjamin and Eleonora. However, not long after their birth, Duskwing Syndicates invaded Bellmare in an attempt to seize it. Her father died trying to protect them, and to make things worse their shop was burned down in the chaos. With nowhere else to go, the family was forced to flee into the slums. As Grace was only an infant when this happened, she does not remember the event, nor does she know what her father looks like. In addition, she does not know of any other life than that of poverty.

Despite this, she still acts childlike and is adored for her imaginativeness and playfulness, though she gets emotional and frightened easily. She is adored by her older siblings Annelie, Coryn, Daniel, and Noelle, who support and encourage her in any way they can.
