Benjamin was born as the youngest child of the Kelsall family alongside Eleonora and Grace. However, not long after the triplets' birth, Duskwing Syndicates invaded Bellmare in an attempt to seize it. His father died trying to protect them, and to make things worse their shop was burned down in the chaos. With nowhere else to go, the family was forced to flee into the slums. As Benjamin was only an infant when this happened, he does not remember the event, nor what his father looks like. In addition, he does not know of any other life than that of poverty.

Despite this, he still acts childlike, his innocence keeping the family’s spirits buoyant. He is adored by his older siblings Annelie, Coryn, Daniel, and Noelle, who support and encourage him in any way they can.
