As traditional of men in the Swanthorn family, Leon joined the Gaelenian military as soon as he turned 18, with the intent to become a general like his father and grandfather before him.
Leon met his future wife Olivia at a ball when the former was 24. A romance blossomed between them, and the two married three years later, with their daughter Lindra being born later that year. When Lindra was 8, the family adopted a 5-year-old Ameran girl named Shannon who accidentally got sent overseas after she was separated from her family. They decided to raise her alongside Lindra as their own daughter, training her to become a noble. However, not long after this Leon's father, the former head of House Swanthorn, passed away, leading Leon to ascend as the house's new leader alongside his wife.
Leon continued his military service through his marriage and the birth of his daughter, gradually rising through the ranks to become a prominent and well-respected general. Known for his strictness towards his troops and his tendency to adhere to the rules, Leon was also a kind man who would lay down his own life to protect his troops if need be. He also extended this towards his family, being a stern but loving father towards his daughters as they grew to become well-respected nobles.
As customary of many Gaelenian noble families, Leon and Olivia both trained their daughters in weaponry as part of the girls' noble upbringing. The former taught his younger daughter Shannon the glaive, training and sparring with her daily and gradually molding her into an expert knight. Despite this, he did not wish for either of his daughters to join the military due to its dangers and tried to keep them away from it as much as he could.
