Srivani is thin, but not overly so. She has soft edges and gentle curves.
Srivani has a birthmark in the shape of a simple snowflake on her right shoulder. She also has a small burn on her left hand from brushing it against a hot pot on the stove when she was young.
Srivani is very elegant and poised. Even though she has lived most of her life away from any people, she has not been able to shake the etiquette instilled in her early in life as her father's heir. When interacting with other fae, she tends to come across as haughty and distant. Srivani is slow to laugh, but when she does it lights up her entire being.
Srivani is motivated by caring for others. When she was little, the people she cared for was her family. Now, it is the dragon (who she has come to recognize needs her companionship more than Srivani actually needs the care of the dragon). Srivani is also cares for the people of Ikoe and sees her duty as the true Heres Hiems as an extension of this.
Srivani is not good at interacting with other fae. She didn't have any experience with it growing up, so she doesn't have any 'people skills'. She's not good at expressing herself to others. She is so used to being with someone who knows her very well (the dragon) that she doesn't know how to communicate with someone who doesn't know her.
Srivani is a bit prejudiced against Consectans (although her father is one). She dislikes how they have treated Ikoe and the people who live there.
Srivani is good at caring for herself. She has been making her own clothes since she was six. She has had to do a lot of her own self-care since the dragon can only parent her to a certain extent. She's also talented at making things, such as small crafts.
Srivani loves collecting things. Like the dragon that raised her, she creates small hoards of things that she finds, particularly pretty rocks. She also enjoys flying on the dragon that raised her. Seeing the world from above always fills her with joy and wonder.
Srivani truly cares about the world. She wants the best for the people/creatures who live in it and will do anything in her power to improve it for them. As such, she takes her role as the Heres Hiems very seriously. She sees it as an honor and an important thing to do to care for the land. She also is proud of her heritage as an indigenous Ikoean. Even though she hasn't had many interactions with the tribes, she respects them from what she knows of them from the dragon.
She is naturally curious and enjoys exploring, especially around the mountains where she lives. However, she also holds a deep dislike of the Consectan colonizers. She has heard from the dragon how they destroyed the dragon's family. Srivani also remembers how prejudiced her father was from when she was little. She doesn't want to risk the dragon's safety by getting too close to fae settlement, so she stays in the remote parts of Ikoe.
Srivani has no experience interacting with other fae, so when she does, she comes across as haughty. She doesn't know how to behave, so she shuts down and draws her emotions inward. Still, she is fierce and determined to fight for what she believes in. She knows she can make a difference as the Heres Hiems, so she waits for news to reach her (through what the sprites overhear) of when it is her time to step up.
She is not one to give up and will always pursue her goals.
Talisman Magic:
Srivani was blessed by the Lord of the Wild with the talisman of winter when she was born. This means that she absorbed that talisman and no longer needs a talisman to perform any magic that is not her natural ability. However, she cannot do talisman magic that does not relate in some way to winter.
Natural Ability:
Srivani's natural ability is the ability to communicate with other animals, both faerie and non-faerie. She can speak to them in their language and understand what they are saying to her.
Srivani has lived a very isolated life. She doesn't know anyone other than the dragon very well and hasn't seen much of the civilized parts of Ikoe.
The Winter solstice
Srivani received education that was typical of a lord's daughter and heir until she was six years old. She learned how to read and write, learned basic math, basic Consectan history, the basics of how Consectan politics function, etc. After the dragon took her, Srivani received a much more unconventional education. She learned about the history of the land and Ikoean traditions from the dragon, as well as survival skills and life lessons.
Srivani was born as the eldest child of Lord Kostel and Neha. She was blessed by the Lord of the Wild with the Winter talisman when she was born, which signaled that she was the Heres Hiems and would be culturally important to the Ikoean tribes. She was raised at her father's estate until she was six, at which time her Ikoean grandmother came to have Srivani perform a traditional Ikoean ceremony. In that ceremony, when the first born child of a family turns six, they spend the night outside. They are being offered as an acolyte to the Mythics, and historically, several children have been selected. The Ikoeans have a treaty with the creatures of the land that any of their children they leave outside will not be harmed during that night. However, children may not bring any weapons to the ceremony. Srivani's father slips her a dagger, which renders the protection agreement null. A lonely dragon (a species which has almost been driven extinct in Potensia) who spots Srivani and the dagger decides to steal Srivani away to keep her company. Srivani's family assumes she is dead.
The dragon takes Srivani to a mountain cave. Once there, Srivani demands to be returned home. The dragon says that Srivani's home was destroyed in a fire that night and that her family is dead (which is not true), which eventually convinces Srivani to stay with the dragon. Srivani grows up with the dragon with little contact with the fae world.
Parents:
Srivani doesn't remember her parents very well. She did grieve for them after the dragon told her they had died, but now she doesn't miss them very much. She has fond memories of her mother's soft voice and of laughing at her father's jokes.
Sisters:
Srivani loved her little sisters dearly and grieved for them as well. She got along decently well with Halia and Seri. They all had pretty typical sibling relationships. She hasn't met Aderyn, as Ryn wasn't born when Srivani was taken.
Dragon:
The dragon is the creature that Srivani is closest too. Even though the dragon stole Srivani from her home and family, Srivani has long since forgiven her. The dragon is the only family she has known for most of her life. She and the dragon get along pretty well. Although Srivani was a bit intimidated by the dragon when she was younger, she has learned that the dragon is no threat to her and is perfectly comfortable around her. The dragon loves making Srivani happy, and Srivani loves the dragon's protective nature. Srivani has come to realize that the dragon needs Srivani's company just as much, if not more, than Srivani needs the dragon's care.
