Piper was born with paranoid schizophrenia, but it didn't start to become serious until she was in high school. She was promptly home schooled, and continued to be home schooled through college. It wasn't until her mental illness hit its peak that she became a mad scientist, using her years of home schooling experience to create violent capsules that would release gas upon impact.
