Private school
Corbin was born as the son of Nicholas and Agatha Violette, a neurosurgeon and socialite respectively. Thanks to some early lessons he received as an infant, Corbin was able to skip preschool and go straight to kindergarten at age 4. He went to an elite private school and had many friends. He would go to fancy events with his parents, but only if he wanted to. Otherwise, he would spend time with Alvin Molloy, a friend of his father, and Ernest Mathers, Alvin's butler. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by a classmate named Casimir Geller. Casimir would frequently bully not only him, but several of his classmates as well using his Talent. Corbin eventually fought back, but was punished for doing so. Corbin received an in-school suspension because Casimir's parents were heavy donors of the school and threatened to take Casimir somewhere else. This gave Casimir free reign to treat the other students however he pleased with no worry of punishment. Every day, Corbin watched as Casimir tormented his classmates and felt angry that he wasn't allowed to stop him. This persisted from kindergarten to 2nd grade until Casimir was expelled. Since the number of complaints from the kids kept increasing, the principal had enough and decided that the huge sums of money the school received from Casimir's family simply didn't matter anymore. One time at a party, Corbin was taken hostage by a criminal who wanted everyone to each send him $10,000. His mother reached out, wanting to save him while his father held her back, still harboring hatred for the bottom feeder exploiting his son. Thankfully, he was saved by a Convocation agent and instinctively ran to his parents for comfort. This event helped him realize that there was a way for him to punish people without getting suffering consequences for it. And so, he made up his mind to become a Convocation Agent. Corbin met Alvin Molloy, a recent friend of his parents, and the two of them sparked a good friendship. Corbin would visit Alvin's mansion located in Coconut Creek and met his butler, Ernest Mather. Though Ernest came off as scary at first, Corbin warmed up to him eventually. When Corbin told Alvin and Ernest his aspirations, they decided to help him out. Every day after school, Ernest would train him in kickboxing. Corbin would look up scientific facts about darkness so he could better use his powers, but it was rather difficult for him. After graduating high school, Corbin accepted an offer from Alvin and Ernest: spend years training with Ernest in the war-torn country of South Sudan. While in South Sudan, they stayed with an old friend of Ernest named Imamu and his young daughter Aberash. Ernest took off the kid gloves regarding training and started to go harder on him. Corbin would also go on missions where he would do battle against rogue soldiers. Ernest would spar with a soldier to see if Corbin could handle him. If the soldier had a Factor, Ernest would deal with him and if not, Corbin would. Though, if the Factor wasn't considered too troublesome, then Corbin could take him on. When Corbin wasn't training or dealing with ruthless soldiers, he was bonding with Aberash playing marbles, volleyball, knucklebones, and Elimination with her. On an unfortunate day, however, Aberash was kidnapped by a group of soldiers. One of them learned that she was close friends with the men who were giving them trouble and gave an ultimatum: either leave the South Sudan and Aberash is returned to her family or continue to oppose us, and she dies. Given that he felt Corbin's training was complete, Ernest was content to accept their demands, but Corbin wanted to teach those dirtbags a lesson. He infiltrated their base and took out many of their members. In response, one of the soldiers forced Aberash to drink a neurotoxin that would kill her by slowly destroying her organs. After Corbin knocked that man out, he untied Aberash and went to comfort her. She started coughing up blood. Corbin shook one of the men awake and asked for the antidote, only to learn that none existed. Corbin knocked him unconscious again and started to stress out. Aberash asked him to kill her so that she wouldn't have to deal with the slow pain. Corbin completely refused at first, but she begged him constantly. He apologized for causing this to happen to her, but she wasn't mad. Aberash thanked Corbin for being a good friend and asked him to keep pursuing his goal for her sake. After one last hug, Corbin killed her. When Ernest saw Corbin come back empty-handed and with darkness over his eyes, he could tell what happened. On their trip back to America, Corbin told Ernest that he wouldn't let his mistake dissuade him from his goal. After all, Aberash wouldn't like that very much.
