"He, he won't," Aliana said with some confidence. It was all fake though, "I, I'm sure of it."
"He, he won't," Aliana said with some confidence. It was all fake though, "I, I'm sure of it."
"He will."
"They all do."
Hatta clenched his jaw. "Can't I…there has to be a way to stop it." He said slowly.
"Of course."
"Die without a child, and the cycle is broken."
"But for that, you must be killed before the beast takes you over."
"I," Aliana was in complete disbelief. She didn't know what else to say, "What if…"
She couldn't think of anything else to say just looking at Hatta with sad eyes, "What if I wasn't around? What, what if he was alone?"
"He would seek out the nearest one who could carry a child." A girl replied with a shrug.
Aiana sighed and looked to the girls, "There's nothing we, I can do?"
(so whatcha think of my plot twist lmao)
They shook their heads. "No."
Hatta looked like he was in shock.
(10 out of 10)
Aliana was in utter shock and disbelief, "There, there, there has to be something."
(thanks! I thought of it like…a few days ago lmao)
"He dies, or he turns into a Jabberwock." the girls replied. "His only choice is when."
Aliana looked to Hatta and softly said, "I, I'm sorry."
(Yeah, when you brought the whole twist thing up.)
(actually a day or so before that, but yes XD)
Hatta shook his head a little bit, a sound escaping him that was either sob or laugh, and it was difficult to tell which.
Aliana looked to Hatta a little shocked and curious as to what in the world was the sound he just made, "Hatta?'
Hatta shook his head again, raking his fingers through his hair. "That doesn't…this doesn't make sense." he blurted. "None of it. I don't…how can I be…?"
"Maybe," Aliana looked at them, "Maybe there's a mistake somewhere?"
"Malignant magic." Said one girl.
"Your family, Hatter, volunteered to be the vessels for the malignant magic. It is what fuels your madness,"
"What turns you to a monster,"
"What keeps you alive."
Hatta swallowed. "How?"
Aliana got an idea, a horrible for her, but great for Hatta. At least she though so however she stayed quiet, "How, how does it keep him alive?"
"If he were not a vessel, his magic would have consumed him." They said.
"The malignant magic? Or the magic he has?" Aliana asked making sure every distinction was made.
"Both. They are intertwined now. They always have been. If one weren't there to support the other, it would swiftly consume him."
"What," Aliana paused for a moment, "What if you were to give me his magics?"
Hatta stared at her for a moment. "No. No, you aren't allowed to do that." He said quickly.
They cocked their heads. "We cannot. That magic is not ours to touch." They replied. "It is a binding older than we ourselves."
"I, I understand," Aliana felt both relieved and disappointed at the same time. Hatta was more useful, more important than she was. If she could bear his fate she would.
They cocked their heads. "Perhaps…"
"There is one who could help."
"The original guardian of the Vorpal sword."
"He knows everything about…"
"The binding. He could, perhaps,"
"Save him." They looked at Hatta.
Hatta swallowed. "And…where is he?"
Aliana stayed quiet and looked to the girls. She hoped they would tell.
They smiled a little. "It depends. Do you want his location, or the sword? And what will you give?"
