"Oh, okay," Aliana responded softly now more wary of the well.
"Oh, okay," Aliana responded softly now more wary of the well.
Hatta led her closer.
Aliana took a deep breath as they walked up to the well.
Hatta called out something in a soft voice.
Aliana remained silent allowing Hatta to do what he needed.
There was a soft sound from the well itself, and three figures came out of it. They looked like young girls, until you met their eyes. Their eyes looked older than time itself, holding more memories and possibilities than should have been possible.
Aliana stopped and almsot took a step back after looking into their eyes. She stayed strong and next to Hatta though still silent.
Hatta sighed. "Hello, ladies. I'm back." He said with a faint smile.
The smallest tilted her head. "Hello, Hatta." She said in a soft voice.
Aliana didn't know what to do so she went to default staying quiet and in the background. Though she stayed close next to Hatta.
The smallest looked like she was eight, but she couldn't possibly actually be eight. No. She wasn't. "What do you need this time, mad one?"
A muscle in Hatta's jaw twitched at the nickname, and his smile tightened. "We need to find the sword that can kill the Jabberwocky."
Aliana could tell he didn't like the nickname, but it wasn't like they could talk back. Those girls held what he needed.
The girls all gave smiles reminiscent of a sharks. "Come with us, then."
Hatta walked to the well.
Aliana walked with him. She would stick with him and these demon children until they told her not to.
The girls looked at Aliana. "Ooh, and who is this?" One asked, cocking her head curiously. "What do you want, lovely?"
"I, I'm just here with Hatta," Aliana responded quickly putting her hands in front of her in a defenseless manner.
The girl raised her eyebrows. "No. You want something, dear. Everyone does. So what do you want?"
"I, um," Aliana felt her mouth go dry. She didn't want to seem selfish and ask for something for herself when Hatta had to get the sword, "I just want to get the sword to defeat the Jabberwocky as well."
The smallest came closer to her. "But is that really what you want?" She asked, head tilting to the side.
Hatta sighed. "Just tell them what they want to hear."
"I want to get rid of my dreams," Aliana said quietly. She knew they couldn't do that, why? Just a gut feeling.
The girl nodded. "All of them? Or just the bad ones?"
Hatta was quiet.
"The bad ones," Aliana admitted even quieter than earlier.
"And what would you sacrifice?" Asked the third, cocking her head.
Aliana looked up. She didn't think they could do it, but if they really could… No no that would be foolish, "Nothing, if that's fine by you. I may wish them gone, but I would rather have them then sacrafice something."
"That's not how the well works." The youngest tittered. "You sacrifice something. Give us something. And we grant the wish."
"Can, can I not wish for anything?" Aliana asked them growing more timid.
