"Robin, please loosen up!" Hazel said, swimming over to him. She went back down to the bottom to do the fish thing again, but she saw something. A large hole, dumping lots of light into the water. She came up for air, and went down again. There it was! She decided to see what it was, so she swam through it. It opened into a larger, much larger pool. She was running out of air, so she swam up to the top of the new pool. Reaching the top, she gasped for air. After she regained her senses, she looked around and let out a shriek of delight. She was in the woods again! With fast movement, she went back into the cave and told Robin of her discovery.
When Hazel was underwater for longer than she should have been, Robin started panicking. But she came back and told him to hold his breath, dragging him through to the other pool
When they came up in the next pool, Hazel smiled and got out of the water. "The downside…" she said breathlessly. "Is that we're soaked!" She muttered with a laugh. She took off her over shirt and wrung it out, but after a while she decided she didn't want to deal with it so she dropped it. Now, she was left in her blue short-sleeved undershirt.
Robin wrung out his clothes while they were still on him. "Great, now I have to add water to the list of things I don't like…''
Hazel laughed. "You're adorable, Crumpet." ( NEW NICKNAME )
"Crumpet? Are we British now?" Robin looked down at his shirt, which was still heavy with water. "I can't keep track of all these nicknames…"
"Yes, technically, we do have some British in us. But that isn't important. Whats important, is that I see the edge of the woods. Lets go!" she said, grabbing his hand and running with him.
Robin stumbled and forced himself to keep up at a sprint. Hazel was faster than him, which wasn't surprising considering he spent almost all his time indoors reading or in a dark corner of the forest to talk to the animals.
Hazel ran through the woods for about half a mile, until they stopped at the edge of the woods. Before them, there was a huge field, with mountains and trees and streams and waterfalls. It was so beautiful, Hazel's mouth dropped open.
Robin leaned back against a tree, gasping for breath and clutching his side. His clothes had mostly dried at this point, but his hair was still wet. "How…" He began. "How do you run that far… and not be exhausted?"
Hazel turned and smiled. "I can't do many athletic things, but I can run!" she said proudly.
A bird came to investigate and Robin became distracted with it. He started having a conversation with it while Hazel was going on and on about something. She seemed oblivious of the fact that he wasn't paying attention for the timebeing.
Hazel realized that Robin wasn't paying attention to her. This will make him pay attention! she thought, and she walked down towards the nearest river.
"Hazel?" He looked up and saw her walking away. "Hazel where are you going? Don't abandon me!" He put the bird on his shoulder and ran after her. "Don't leave me Hazel!" He hated being alone, and Hazel knew that full well.
"Your own fault." she murmured. "Pay attention. Hey look, apple trees!" she said, pointing to some trees nearby. "I'm starving."
"Are you sure we should eat it? Sure, the water thing was safe enough, but you know. Dark evil or something. They could be poisoned." He felt he had to look at everything as a possible danger. Who knew what was safe in this unfamiliar dimension?
"I think I'll brave it for-" Hazel was cut off by a large boom in the distance. She looked up, and saw a large cloud of black smoke rising behind her, flying out of the woods at surprising speed. It kept coming, and Hazel realized that everything in covered shriveled up and died. Hazel grabbed Robins hand, and took a few steps back, but when the thing didn't stop, she yelped. "RUN!" She cried, and the sprint began.
Robin's eyes widened and he froze, terrified. The forest was dying before his eyes. Suddenly, he was snapped out of his daze by Hazel dragging him forwards. He broke into the fastest run he could muster, trying to keep up with Hazel.
"Go Robin GO! We have to go faster!" Hazel was screaming. She felt something hot on their necks; the thing was approaching.
Robin tried to push himself beyond his limit, adrenaline pushing him forward as he held his breath. He was running too fast to even gasp for breath.
Hazel could tell Robin was Turing out. Fast. With lightning speed-like movements, she picked him up, and put him on her back. Lucky for her she wasn't to heavy, and they continued on just as fast. They heard a roar, louder then anything Hazel had ever heard before sound behind them. Hazel screamed, whisking desperately that she could cover her ears. Ahead of them she spotted a small hole in the side of a mountain. Not quite a cave, but close. Changing her direction slightly, Hazel began to run for it.
Robin lay limply on Hazel's back, weakly trying to catch his breath. His heart felt like it would pound out of his chest.
Hazel dove into the hole, and covered Robin's body with hers. She felt searing heat just outside the hold, not quite coming in, but hurting none the less. "Robin, are you okay?" she said breathlessly as the roaring storm of death went on outside their refuge.
"W-where are we? What happened? Where's the… the thing?" Robin clung to Hazel, terrified. (So sorry I forgot about this rp! Its been silent for so long lol)
( indeed. )
"Its outside." Hazel whispered. "Don't move."
